The purple guy died wearing the SpringTrap Animatronic/Costume and is dead now.

He died cus of you breathe on some sorta lock in spring trap that could crush your head if you do well.... At the end purple guy is laughing I think.. and the lock is so bad and Rusty it crushes him to death so.

Nah. the spring lock is every where in the suit, if it snaps, breaks, loosens, etc. It will put the animatronic pieces back in place(which you use a hand crank to pull them into a position that will give the suit the ability to be worn). Some of the pieces are sharp thereofore you will begin to bleed out thats why the man on the phone says go in that room to bleed out away from the customers, also the pieces will eventually crush the man inside's HEAD, eventually, that is why in some pictures you only see the man's mouth, open, like he's screaming.

is he trying to "hide" from the dead kids or just scared?

My theory is that he is trying to disguise himself as an animatronic so that the kids think that he is one of them, but, I have no idea about why he does that...
