Description
Here is the first major background for the next Jack Magic page. I will add Zidler and Jack on a boat in the canal there, and more people all over the place!I just need other ideas to add to this! I really want this city to be a happenin' place, if a bit intimidating! Here's the set-up: this story takes place in a fantasy world, which resembles the French and English Enlightenment Period. So I took inspiration from Milan architecture, as well as French. The Enlightenment Period was known for a boom of inventions, science, and interest in the church, and the nature of human life, rather than superstition. What kind of boat should Zidler and Jack be riding into the city on? What other things can you think of can go here?

A BOAT! Perhaps a gondola! A french man(or the equivilant in Jack Magic's land) serenading a young couple who obviously don't know the PDA rules!

Jack and Zidler are going to be the ones on the boat, but I think a gondola is the way to go, since so many people are saying it.

Really nice, the lighting is great. As for ideas, flags are always good to add some energy being kinetic and as colorful as you like. Also, given your description of what you want, metal work such as gilding, weather vanes, navigation equiptment, all things that come to mind.

Has anyone mentioned to perhaps add plants? Vines and flowering things or little plants in pots. I'm big on plants, a scene doesn't look alive without one of two things for me... a cat sleeping somewhere and/or plants.

At first, a gondola seems good...
But for a "happening" place, how about a small steamboat like ship? Flat with the circle paddles and small steamstacks....^^
Or something....
The picture looks very Victorian World's fair to me....

Smokestakes sound like a good touch, especially for an invention-like world. I should probably put smokestakes and other thingamabobs on the buildings too.

like a small steam powered ferry that has smokestacks, with little flags fluttering in the wind. OOh and some banners hanging above the bridge, ......foliage could use a smidgn, perhaps some very soft wispy clouds to break up the sky? Or a couple of funky kites? Perhaps a non-objective metal sculpture here and there? Ok soo i got a little over excited, but only because i really like it!

Niiice. I love the lighting on that big dome thingy. When I first saw the pic, I thought one of those really loooong boats with the tall curly ends that they use in Venice would fit well. And you could have some market type stall things or something. I mean, boats and stalls sounds dull, but it'd be cool if you could put some sort of twist on it to make it fit the setting better.
