Description
In the opening scene for Scorpio, one representative from each of the twelve signs will appear. Here is the character design for the Leo rep for that scene. The point of the assignment is to take each of the signs and design them in an unexpected way that no one's ever thought of before, but at the same time, seems so obvious. As for the comic itself, I hope to continue it when I get the chance. I plan on posting all of the pages I finish for the END of the semester, instead of doing it gradually, like I do with Norm & Cory.Related content

Andrew.. you're a legend. - I don't know HOW you do what you do, but every new character portrait you put out doesn't fail to amase me.. - the amount of texture and life you get into your work is awesome.. and the original feelings to your character designs are truely awe-inspiring.

Aww, you are SO appreciative of this piece! Thank you very much! I am most proud of this piece more than anything in my portfolio, which is ironic, considering it's more like a spot illustration I use to put on my business card, mailer, etc... I DO have a character model sheet of him showing how he moves and what he's like, which I'm also including, and I will revise the deviation of his lab.

I can actually see this guy being an ambassador but obviously from a very cool planet. I think you achieved your purpose of "unexpected but inevitable"!

That's awesome.. a great solution! I love how his face looks like a mask. His expressions is what triggers 'rafiki' he looks wise but at the same time little crazy..

Even though the facial features/markings have almost a monkeyish quality to them, I like that your lighting, and also that you're going for a Tribal mask feel!

That would take, like, another whole semester! I do have a line-up of all twelve designs, even though the real story will focus on Scorpio only, so I may post that up sometime.
