Description
My entry for the TheArtOrder.com challenge Eowyn and the Nazgul, always wanted to draw this part of the book so it was a lot of fun to execute. The thing is pretty big though at 19x40 inches so my hand really hurts now ><Related content

I must ask, how long did all of that incredible detail take?

I like the version of the witchking you chose.
The live action one is beast but I still like the cartoon one a bit better

You made this look like an ancient painting of black and white. This most definitely deserves that daily deviation.Β

Ah this is great. Pencil work really conveys its own sense of atmosphere. This reminds me a little of Gustave DorΓ©'s work

The detail here is truly astounding, from the way the fallen horses's mane lies, to the leathery creases on the Nazgul wings, to the intricate stone work of a burning Minas Tirith. This is absolutely phenomenal, and you should be so proud of yourself on this piece. I love LOTR, I love this scene, and I love your talent!!! Well done! Faved!

I personally think that this scene was stronger in the movie than in the book. In the book, she was borderline suicidal when she went up against the Witch-King and wasn't really afraid of him. In the movie, she was clearly flat-fucking TERRIFIED of him, yet she still stood her ground to defend Theoden.

This is so cool.
Each time I look, I think I see something different.
I am not sure what it all means, or what it is all about; but no matter ~ it is still a fantastic piece of work.
And in truth, very much my kinda thing; I have a huge thing for medieval stuff of late.
