Yeah, this is pretty much, a British world. This is a world where the America never had a revolution. As a result, France never had a successful revolution, there's no War of 1812, no Napoleon and the wars of conquest he started, no European revolutions of 1848, no American Civil War and no Spanish-American War. No Unified Germany, no Kaiser or WWI, no Unified Italy and No Mussolini and Fascism, no Hitler or WWII, and no Russian Revolution, USSR, Communism or Cold War in this world.

Well, maybe in this AU things probably played out similarly like in the OT, where during the 18th century, Japan was in its isolationist period, then by the 19th century The Meiji era, Japan began to open up for trade and modernization. The universe of the Two Georges branched off from our universe around the late 1700s, in our history, America declared, fought and won its independence, whereas in the two Georges universe the American colonies never stood up to the British Empire. Also Japan may still be an empire with its annexation of the Korean peninsula.

I think anime and animecons would be as mainstream as the superbowl. Osamu Tezuka had an admiration for Walt Disney, I think they'd leave him alone out of respect.
There's a novel about this scenario, called The Man in the High Castle, by Philip K. Dick, if you've heard of it.

You're right about the latter. In the novel of The Two Georges, the technology is steampunk and air travel is by Blimp.
