In his eyes, Ramona was the end all be all of women, and when she dumped him for being far too clingy, he lost it. He picked up a couple "slightly-used" swords from the local pawn shop and went into training. Obviously, he wasn't very good at first, which explains his many scars. Through the years he has mastered the art of the "Flying Kill-o-Death" Sword style. He was accepted into the league because of his insane drive to prevent anyone from dating Ramona. The way Rick see's it, if he can't have her...no one can.
