Here's Frodo Ba- er, Mr. Underhill! >w<

I've been reading LotR with my friend this summer, and while I very much prefer the books, the movies are pretty good as well. Mostly when Jackson doesn't deviate from the books ... and when I don't have to read all that scenery (I'm gonna be honest here, I've become much better at direction BECAUSE OF TOLKIEN).

Anyway I really admire Mr. Tolkien as a writer and worldbuilder and haven't done enough LotR fanart. I used to dislike Lord of the Rings before I had really experienced it, because I dislike high fantasy and found it overrated ... but then I found that it's actually where most of those tropes originated from, and thus, is far more original (still I hate elves, except the Tree Elves are kind of neat). I kinda consider Tolkien the Father of Fantasy.

It also doesn't hurt that it seems his favorite story was Beowulf, which is also one of mine. >w<

I hope y'all enjoy this small sketch. I kinda got lazy with his cloak and will probably draw him again sometime, in pen and color.
