I’m not doing this because I want to beat someone! Because I hate someone, or because I want to blame someone! It’s not because it’s fun. God knows it’s not because it’s easy! It’s not even because it works, because it hardly ever does! I do what I do because it’s RIGHT! Because it’s decent! And above all, it’s *kind*. It’s just that. Just kind.On TumblrYeah, the Doctor Who finale pretty much ended me. I just wanted to paint something, so here it is. Capaldi was brilliant as always and I'm so not ready to see him go

I believe I have seen this one before. Not sure when or where, but it has made the rounds hasn't it?
I like your use of texture and stamp brushes with an almost story-book like approach to the stars and outer-space. It's a very artful and fanciful way to present our resident 12th Doctor. Excellent rendering on Capaldi's face and his white shirt.
I'm definitely most fascinated by the hair. It too has a story-book/Van'Gogh style to it's mixture of blue, white, and bright yellow. It gives it an other-worldly glow and majesty, as if all of time and space is coursing through his head, and expelling energy through the strands. His face is also turned away, eyes closed, as if he is intensely contemplating something, which further adds to my hypothesis that this is why his hair is glowing. But that's just me.
This reminds me of the kind of fan-art you would find painted on canvas at a river-side tourist art gallery. Definitely something I would buy.

I hadn't watched Who since Moffat took over; after season five, I was done with the tacked on romance with River and the mary sue companions. I may watch some Capaldi eps though, because I like this actor and Clara is gone. Any recommendations?

I agree, I can't watch Doctor Who anymore where after the Christmas special I will be done. Call me the s word because I have heard it but so far nothing BBC has done has convinced that Peter wasn't either fired or suggested to leave to let the new writer get the reigns of the show.

This is just stunning, I love your use of colour. Did you do a picture with closed eyes as a reference to a certain plotline earlier in the season (no spoilers here) It works perfectly to show a vulnerability and insecurity to a character who is normally so in control. He thought there would be stars, then you came along. And there were stars...
I agree with everyone saying how devastated they are to be losing 12 (you have to toe the company line if you want to work again but I don't think any fans believe Capaldi really wanted to leave. A new writer, new ideas, new stories, he would have had a field day with it. I also don't believe it was a complete coincidence that 13 is a Broadchurch actor...) I'm dreading Christmas this year, I'm considering a hermitage, just me and the TV until I get over it!

Honestly, I think Peter was pressured to leave. A while back he did say he was asked to stay, but now that Chibnall revealed that he wanted a female Doctor from the start, it's pretty obvious that wasn't true. I think Capaldi would have stayed as long as they wanted him to and he'd be amazing all the way. Just recently he said he loves this show more than anything else he'll ever do. The thought they wanted to get rid of one of the best actors to ever play the Doctor breaks my heart. And, yeah, I don't think it was an accident the new Doctor is a Broadchurch actor, either. Of all the amazing actresses that could pull this off Chibnall picks the most boring, bland looking one and the BBC is already claiming she will be an "utterly iconic Doctor". I can't even think about this stuff without wanting to punch somebody in the face.

Wow - this looks really really good! And so extremely realistic, but one still can see that it was made by an artist - which is great! The overal composition looks quite good, too, as well as the color-composition - those colors somewhat fit together and seem to harmonize. And those textures you used add greatly to the picture ^^

I am...not dealing with the finale. At all. At first I thought I wasn't dealing with it well, but at this point I have to say I'm just not dealing with it. I'm having Intense Feelings about it, most of which are very distressed and unhappy to the point of heartbroken. I think about it sort of by accident, and then I have to consciously stop thinking about it.

But this is an absolutely lovely picture; well painted and glorious! I don't know if you deliberately included lines like a musical score, but that's what I'm seeing and it's a perfect touch.

I know exactly how you feel. I have been dreading the finale for months...The Doctor regenerating has always been tough on me, but it's even worse this time, I loved Twelve since day one and I was really hoping he'd stay at least 4-5 years, it just seems way too soon
