What are you talking about? The Simpsons is PART of this evil! Its that one final boss that refuses to die no matter how many Meteors or Omnislashes you throw at it.

excuse me, the Simpsons created the animated sitcom with the ideal of making high quality cartoons that would levied the medium from being largely considered child's medium to scope that commentary things like social issues, political, religious, and even the American education system.
Seth MacFarlane has tried to destroy all of that with his cheap, vulgar, poorly written politically incorrect self-serving crap that I cringe whenever see or hear about anew animated sitcom for fear that it might just be piece of crap like family guy.
pray that this is not the end of dream and ere when the Simpsons go's off the air.

Wait, you mean to tell me that Seth MacFarlane got his hands on The Flinstones?

Oh great. That means we get yet ANOTHER show dedicated to bashing conservatives and glorifying liberals. They outnumber us five to two now! They've got The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, the Cleaveland Show, and now The Flinstones. What have we got? King of the Hill and South Park. One's dead, the other's incredibly graphic. What ever happened to conservatism? All this talk about media fairness is really just an excuse to silence us! Don't they think they've had enough?!

to be fair, they did their fair share of bashing on the Liberals as well
no-one is immune to ridicule
just conservatives tend to be more but-hurt about it
(and I'm saying this as a conservative)

Flintstones was often criticized by Family Guy as lazy and cheap so now Seth MacFarlane will try and make it better.
Better him than Matt Groening.

"Lazy and cheap?" Family Guy is the one to talk.

I mean as in terms of animation beside Flinstones, South Park and all those Seth MacFarlene cartoons are a hell of lot funnier and watchable than the new episodes of the Simpsons which just won't die already!

I died a litte inside when I found out that one of the most classic cartoons ever was being revived by that hack. This on top of the new Smurfs movie coming out makes me want to . I seriously wish Hollywood would stop ass-raping my childhood (the Transformer movies being the only exception, but that's a matter of opinion.)

let's be honest here
HB cartoons of that era (especially the 70s) sucked
the lazy writing and cheap animation, designed solely for the purpose of a soulless, mass-produced product

people may like to bitch and moan about cartoons nowadays, but they are at least TRYING to have some sort of individuality to themselves

I em aware of the hypocrisy of Seth McFarlane rippin on the Flinstones, seeing how he's guilty of many of their sins himself (like the re-cycling of concepts and characters), but when he's right about something, than he's right (plus, American Dad is actually a very well written series)

I really hate how people tend to idealize the past, completely forgetting about how it REALLY was!

The 30s-40s and the 90s were the only time periods with truly excellent animation being the standards
Bot the 50s-70s period was the god-damn dark ages as far as animation goes, with the 70s being the worst of them all (as there was actually some creativity in the earlier decades, Johnny Quest for example was ahead of it's time, but during the 70s, the animation studios were relying solely on tired formulas, with cheap mass-production being the only goal)

Even if cartoons today may be a step-down from the 90s standard, they are still a superior product to what we had in the earlier decades.
So yeah, anyone claiming that Jabberjaw is superior to Adventure Time, definitely deserves to have their childhood raped.
