Hmm, I'm not sure about what I should think. The water is just amazingly soft, very well done! But I don't like the blue toning here, I'm convinced the original colours would have been better in this case...

Andy man...been a while since I commented on your deviations.
And I pick this coz it's just such a beautiful setting.
Overall, I'd love to see a wider angle of it.
Still is a magnificent shot.

..only ΒΌ second? ... mist feels longer.. your cold light... the random leaves left.. ridges over rocks.. movement... soft.

ah, I see.. [can you control your fstops?... that could compensate.. but this is still very pretty as is. ]

andykun In reply to darkviolet [2005-01-10 03:14:12 +0000 UTC]
sorry im not too familiar with all these photography terms haha.. ive never had a photography course b4 by fstops im guessing u mean the aperture?
π: 0 β©: 1
andykun In reply to darkviolet [2005-01-12 18:52:55 +0000 UTC]
haha yeah of course its a digital rebel
the manual settings lets u control: ap, whitebalance, shuttespeed, iso, focus... hmm... what else...
π: 0 β©: 1
darkviolet In reply to andykun [2005-01-12 18:58:53 +0000 UTC]
....so.. in the case of this photo.. if i said to close down your ap...[higher fstop number] and lengthen the shutter speed a little... you would understand what I mean?... the ap and shutter speed control the light in different ways...
π: 0 β©: 1
andykun In reply to darkviolet [2005-01-12 19:09:16 +0000 UTC]
yupz but i dont get whats the different effects btwn the largness of the shutter and the speed of the shutter... both control the amnt of light coming thru... one is just changing the hole size and the other is the speed of closing the hole...
π: 0 β©: 1
darkviolet In reply to andykun [2005-01-12 23:08:18 +0000 UTC]
yes.. and the speed also controls the motion.. it either stops it.. or shows it...
and the ap... works with depth of field.. how much can be in focus at one time... closed down [higher number..] the field is deeper..
opened up..[smaller number] the field is more shallow...
make sense?
....but our words digress what from I meant..
..the point about the shutter speed... -I was surprised at the amount of movement in the given setting..
and I do like the choices you made here... the amount of motion shown.. and the amount of light.
...
