Description "Sphinx at Giza with Nose"

When I typed "Sphinx" into Google Images, I got "Results 1 - 18 of about 604,000 for sphinx." I did not want to be 604,001 with a typical tourist photo of the Sphinx at Giza, Egypt. So, I added a nose. I also took the liberty of erasing two buses and the tourists surrounding them. That way, you can contemplate a Sphinx with a nose and no distractions.

Great pic. I wonder if it would originally have been painted? Perhaps a manip in bright colours next??

AndySerrano In reply to bobswin [2015-10-09 23:44:25 +0000 UTC]

That's a good question.  So far, I have seen no written evidence that says it was painted. It probably was since all the other temples and structures were painted

I researched noses from ancient Egyptian sculptures and that's how I decided to make it. Thank you.

Very cool! This is the closest shot I've ever seen of a Sphinx! I wonder how many feet high this was.

AndySerrano In reply to drumgirl [2008-08-11 04:11:59 +0000 UTC]

The body of the Great Sphinx is 200 feet (60m) in length and 65 feet (20m) tall. The face of the sphinx is 13 feet (4m) wide and its eyes are 6 feet (2m) high. Don't forget, it doesn't have a nose. French soldiers under Napolean used a cannon to shoot off the nose just for the fun of it.

the nose should be larger.

also, the sphinx needs a piercing and a tattoo!

how bout adding full sensuous Sphinx lips and a long luxurious mane?

I am worried about the busload of tourists you sent to another dimension.

How will they ever get home??

AndySerrano In reply to CorazondeDios [2008-06-01 04:12:51 +0000 UTC]

There were so many tourists, I doubt the world will miss them much. I sent them to the Phantom Zone.

We'll never fully understand what went through their minds. It's like delving into the brains of people from another planet.
Thank you as i kiss your brain.

Many say that we only use a small percentage of our brain, but I've never heard someone talk about the heart/will that a person uses. I think those beings used so much of both.
