Description Chris felt a sharp, hot spike of pain in his right arm. Yelping, he ducked back behind the dumpster. Warm blood welled around his fingers and ran down his arm. Wesker's head snapped around, one hand extended towards him.

"Arghh, I got hit! I'm alright, I'm alright," Chris gasped. Pain licked up his arm in harsh, jagged waves, making him sick, and the heavy stink of trash wasn't helping. The bullet had to have clipped the bone, it hurt so bad. He wavered, feeling lightheaded. Wesker gripped his shoulder and held him steady.

"Breathe, Redfield," he growled. "You've already compromised us enough. Don't pass out on top of it!"

The order was harsh and uncompromising, but Chris thought he could detect a miniscule amount of genuine concern. Up until the Mansion Incident, that small stint of humanity had always been enough for the members of S.T.A.R.S and in the long, dark years that followed they sometimes wondered...

Was it just good acting? Or had Wesker actually cared?

I'm on a Resident Evil kick right now and wanted to do something pre-Mansion, so I came up with this. What have our favorite S.T.A.R.S officers stumbled into this fine summer evening? A bank robbery gone sour? Botched drug bust? Let your imagination fill in the details, and don't forget to full-view!

Ah, I can't get enough of your work right now! Both fic and art! I love Wesker's pose in this, and Chris' too! He's obviously in pain from the wound, but the slight roll of his head towards his captain suggests he takes some comfort in his words. And Wesker's hand on his arm.... A great gesture! Wesker wouldn't hold on to him like that if he didn't care, right?

Aww, thanks so much! I'm thrilled at how much you saw in just the subtlety of their body language. Wesker's cold and hard, but you're right. He wouldn't try to steady Chris like that if he didn't really care. THANK YOU for seeing not just the picture, but its underlying meaning and story as well. You truly have a talent for seeing the deeper significance within things, and it shows in how you write.

COOL!! I love imagining all the stuff the STARS team might have done in the few years leading up to the mansion.

What kind of cases did they handle, why did Jill insist on wearing that silly beret, did everyone have fun picking on Brad, and, most importantly, what was Wesker really like?

Wow! Thank you for taking the time to write such an in-depth comment (and for the fav)! I totally agree with everything you said about the S.T.A.R.S. team and I hope to do similar pictures in the future!
*heads off to hatch my evil plot*

Oh I love pictures like this! It's quite refreshing from all the other Chris vs. Wesker and battle pictures you see because everyone's all on one side. Poor Chris though,. He's one tough soldier so I'm sure it's a scratch for him, lol. Excellent job!

Thank you so much! I really do appreciate you taking the time to say all that, and I'm glad you liked the picture! I'm a big fan of pre-Mansion S.T.A.R.S (i.e. Wesker before his intital betrayal) and I hope to do some more pictures like this in the future! Perhaps the team is dispatched into the Arklay Mountains to search for a missing hiker... in a snowstorm... and everything goes horribly wrong. Muahahaha! Anyway, thank you for both the wonderful comment and the fav!

Awesome, just two questions? what program did you use in here? XNAlara? because if is, it looks very different the other is, who are the three guys who hold the lady as hostage? I saw them before, but don't remember :S

Anendda-Rysden In reply to redfield37 [2011-04-27 20:57:14 +0000 UTC]

I actually used a program called DAZStudio. I think it's an easy-to-use and highly interactive piece of software, with full control over aspects such as lighting, textures, facial structure, physical build, etc. It's free to download [link] and all of the high-quality models on this page [link] are free to download as well.

However, anything beyond that (clothing, hair, weapons, etc.) typically have to be purchased, but with some time and patience you can find an equal amount of free stuff floating around the Internet as well. Despite a few problems, it works great for me, and I made this Wesker/Resident Evil pic [link] using the same program and technique.

As for the baddies, it's curious that you say you recognize them, because I didn't have anybody in mind when I made them. I merely dressed up some guys with random outfits and hairstyles, trying to make them all look different.

Anyway, now that I'm finished rambling, thank you for the fav and I hope I've managed to answer your questions!

Daz Studio! yeah I know the program, but never had the chance to work it out, I didn't recognize that at the moment that you told me about the program :S

Now that I remember, the guy holding the gun far left looks like a villain from a Tv series I use to watch long time ago, that's why I asked.

Thanks for your answers
