So, this was originally my entry to the Izumicon 2012 Mascot Contest. I didn't win (I think they didn't want me winning two years in a row) so I get to upload it now.

I am not big on cosplay. Although, I am tempted to dress up as the Doctor for Halloween at school!
Oh no! I could never give up on drawing! I will still upload stuff, I just don't have a lot of time to draw right now because I am building two classes from scratch. I will have more free time after December, so hopefully I will have lots of cool new pieces to show off!

Amazing work! Don't think of it as a loss just because of a former win. Chose to think of it as a sign that your work from last year prompted someone to push themselves to the point that for the moment they passed you and like a challenge use it to strive to surpass them once again.

Actually, I didn't win cause I won last year.
I am good friends with one of the core staff members of Izumicon. He lets me know of about some of the inner workings and we talked about the results. The winner has been posted on the website if you want to see.

Nice and man do I need to work on my coloring skills

It took me a while to find a coloring method that worked well for me. I use Paint Tool Sai for all of my coloring - it truly is an amazing little program. I color the picture in flat colors first and then create billions of clipped layers for the shading and highlights. My pen and watercolor tools are my friends.
It's speed up really quickly, but you can see my method on my YouTube channel. It's YouTube.com/solfirefly. I want to make a tutorial one of these days. I just need some free time to do it. OTL
