I’m back after a, God knows how long, art block.

Recently I have been rewatching MLP and it got me thinking. We never really got much of an in-depth look into the lives of Celestia and Luna until the very last season and even then it wasn’t much nor about their history. So I got writing some ideas for my own au.

( Should I call it an Au? I don’t even have a name for it )

It’ll be more of a retelling of Mlp, starting with the Princess before their Alicornation. There will be much more serious themes and less super optimistic views ( well, until Pinkie but that’s another story )

Our first dive will be on the Sun Goddess herself, Celestia.

(P.S This isn’t everything about wee Tia but more will be explained if people take a liking to this au(?), feel free to ask questions )

Dawn Prancer

Parents: Silver Spades, Feather Shine
Species: Unicorn / Mare
Build: Tall, Slender
Special Talent: Light manipulation, Sun manipulation
Occupation: Librarian
Nickname(s): Dawn, Prancer, Nerd (by Midnight Dreamer)
Born in The Smokey Mountain’s / Residing in Canterlot

Personality / Background

Even when the Three pony tribes signed a peace treaty, tensions where still high between the three groups. Suspicions where still mingling and each group clung to respective passions. For Unicorns, this was riches. As most had grown up in the Smokey Mountains, gem mining was high among Unicorns this creating a form of currency. And since they were the first to find it then obviously they are ones who should have the most. Yeah, by statistics Unicorns are the richest among the three tribes as the stereotype goes.

Dawn’s father, Silver Spades, was handed the family business of Emerald mining, a very lucrative business. While it had started as a simple currency business it soon transpired into several Jewellery stores, not only targeting unicorns but also to Earth ponies and Pegasi. Not because he was “progressive” but for more for the profit.

Dawn Prancer was born during the early spring and was basically raised by tutors and nurses. Despite the pain and neglect Dawn went through, she was a highly intelligent and positive mare somehow seeing the good in every pony she met. Dawn Prancer is a loud, enthusiastic, optimistic and some rather questionable underlying sass.
