Description
Crikey Duck and all characters therein (c) Tania Walker and Vicki Eden.Gasp! It's sequential art! This is the first page of a page-per-week webcomic ~ blitterbug and I are working on. It's an ongoing story, character-based.
The comic has it's own website, located at CRIKEYDUCK.COM (www.crikeyduck.com), and I won't be uploading any future issues to DevArt, so if you want to follow the comic, please bookmark the website!
You might wanna zoom in to see this. Curse you, Dev! Curse you and your puny thumbnails!
Like a multi-limbed gestalt entity, ~ blitterbug and I share duties on this comic; we live in the same house, so doing these things is a very interactive process. Officially, we come up with ideas in group sessions, I write most (but not all) of the scripts, Vix does the ruff pencils, I do the clean pencils, Vix does the coloring and lettering, Vix designed the website, and I handle uploading and maintenance.
In reality, we work together on just about every stage; I'll make corrections to the ruff, she'll make corrections to the clean pencils, I get input into the coloring, and we both tweak the dialogue once it hits Photoshop stage.
I'm hoping I get faster and sleeker with the clean pencils, because right now that's the slowest part. We really want to try to get a finished page per week out, so wish us luck! Let life not interfere too much.
Should this experiment actually succeed, I'm hoping to print and sell yearly collections - roughly fifty comics per book. We'll see how we go.

I went to the livejournal to read the comic, but no pages are available to view there? Not sure what's happening with that; is there somewhere else I can read the comic?

It was there for a while on crikeyduck.com but then it disappeared. I think from zero activity on the site (Tania, Vicki and blitterbug) The site is slowly starting to fade away. It's unfortunate because it was/is an awesome comic.

I ran into this comic quite by accident and love it. I hope more follow soon. I like the mannerisms the drawings project and the facial expressions are hilarious. Darrel I think is my favorite because he's so sarcastic with Ranger.

Pfft, Darrell, you're so paranoid.
You already know I read the comic, but I wanted to make sure this was on my favorites list so other people would find it.

great art I love it the colors are crisp and clear. How did you get the characters to fit in the frames so well? (dumb question I know) Do you draw the frames first or do you draw the characters aand then put the layout for the frames down? (and if you got this message already my apologies, my internet was acting up. ) cheers.

how do you draw the characters so that they fit in the frames, do you draw them first and then draw the frame?

*laughs* You'd be amazed how many people on the comments page of the comic, over at [link] , have tried to criticise my understanding of Australian culture.. before they realise I'm a bloody Australian.

TANIA AND VICKY!
*hyperventilates*
Okay, I know I sound like an idiot, but I was SO excited when I saw this on DD! See, not only is it MD:TAS, which just rocks beyond everything else that rocks, but it's by Vicky and Tania! I have been drooling over your artwork for years and years!
Yeah, okay, name's changed - I'm Missie DuCaine. I don't know whether or not you remember me, but I did draw fanart for characters both of you own, and way back in the day, I actually was on the Brotherhood of the Blade. (I played Crystal FeLeur then, but that's not the point).
Keep up the amazing work, and wow. I am so pleased as punch for you guys!

Just like to point out that I'm Australian, I live in Brisbane, and no-one uses crikey or likes Steve Irwin; kind of like how British people don't act like the Monty Pythons.
If we did use it, it's a bit like 'damn' or 'good grief Charlie Brown.'

Just like to point out that I'm Australian and I live in Brisbane too. The use of 'Crikey' is meant to be a wee bit ironic. Us Australians like irony.. though I'm sure you already know that.

Yes, irony is good. Just wanted to make sure ... there are too many Americans who think we ride kangaroos around or something. Incidentally, I'm definately going to keep reading Crikey Duck. Great work!
