Oh, maybe a couple of hours at most. I make chainmail, so I have the basic concepts there already. It was just a matter of 'weaving' it on canvas instead of literally.

Your attention to detail in the chain mail is amazing! It's realistic while still maintaining the gorgeous painted quality you excel at. I've made chain mail before. That is definitely what it looks like. ^_^

Oh my. That chain mail must have taken an inhuman amount of patience to complete. It turned out incredible, and the fact of all the detail you put in shows you are dedicated to your work. Overall this is just incredibly amazing. I have yet to see any Legend of Zelda art to top these drawings of Link you have made.
Again very nice on the chain mail. I can see each individual ring clearly in this picture here. On your final I still see them, but not as good as you can see them here. This pictuer is quite amazing and I'm going to have to favorite your final one of these. You have my complements.

You're right, it's night impossible to really appreciate the amount of work you've put into that chainmail in the fullshot. And not a single skimp on realism; every individual ring linking to its neighbours in perfect formation. You can even see his pants through the lowest row of rings.
Love the highlights and the shading. You've really captured that smooth metal feel.

Thankfully, no, I didn't detail it beyond what you can see here. It's just bigger in the working version. There comes a limit to what details are just insane to put in. XD

Chainmail is a nice touch for the armor. I always wondered how he could go through so much and only lose about a fourth of heart. 8D
