Casting magic that is harnessed from both sunlight and moonlight equally, he is able to convert the energy those two celestial bodies exude into something more helpful and physical for others. This is typically limited to healing, as he believes that the moon's light brings forth healing from how soothingly embracing it can be as well as being able to expulse certain colds and small illnesses with his magic. It cannot be used to bring harm, and instead is a pleasing and painless alternative to modern medicine with around the same potency.
- He can only heal one person at a time, with the amount healed or restored to said body depending on how much light he has stored or available to him. Therefore, he cannot use his magic during new moons due to the lack of light present. If it is a fullmoon, supermoon, etc...where a large amount of light from the moon is available his magic is much more effective. Sunlight has the same properties and follows the same rules (as moonlight is merely reflected light from the sun to begin with) with him able to use his magic to the extent that the sun is present.
- If either celestial body is absent due to cloudy weather or otherwise, his powers are very ineffective and hindered. His magic works at its absolute best during special celestial events such as a solar or lunar eclipse. (He can heal broken bones or otherwise difficult to treat injuries during these events.) On an average day, he can heal most minor to moderate cuts or injuries.

Mapping the stars in his spare time, he often sells his star charts to higher companies to make money off of his hobby with him having eventually turned it into a career. He loves to track comets and the shifting night sky as much as he can, with him believing that stars and space itself is one of the many fascinations of the world that have yet to be fully explored.

A large, sassy golden macaw that follows Helios around. She isn't too vocal to the point of irratation, but is pretty chatty if you egg her on or allow her to talk to you for long periods of time. She loves to be social around others, and is very quick to try and befriend other witches that Helios meets and may even try and steal their food. Vernal and Helios first formed a bond when she was still a hatchling, with her having grown to bond with him ever since. Her bright, vivid gold and white color palette reminds many of the sun when they first meet her.

While Helios may first come off as cold and reserved when someone first meets him, he cares about people more than he initially lets off. It takes a while for him to warm up to others, but he is able to form nigh unbreakable bonds with those that he opens up to. He'll tell you when he thinks that you're wrong in an argument however, and prefers to pick the side he believes in personally than follow the crowd. Due to this, he is very independent and free with both his thoughts and opinions, as he doesn't try and mold himself to please anyone else. He is who he wants to be, and believes that it is better to think and act for yourself and for what you believe is right than to just flow with what the populace says.

History

Helios always had a quiet childhood in retrospect, as he didn't often try and speak out against others and preferred isolation with a small group of friends or family than to be pressed into the spotlight. In a way, things haven't quite changed since then, but he has grown to be much more vocal and strong about his opinion and thoughts after he was younger. He grew up in the city with a few older siblings that he didn't spend much time with, as he preferred to occupy himself with his parents or with books throughout the day. Even at school, he would try and keep a book under the table with him peering under to catch a page of it or two when the teacher wasn't looking. This way of thinking worked for a while, until he realized that there was more to life than silently pushing through it.
When he reached highschool, that was around the time he finally began to emerge from his shell. Sure, he did pick a few fights due to being in debates with others over the right or wrong way to do things-- but it was always healthy. He never tried to be mean to others, and instead gave his advice in any way he could. His debates typically consisted of speculation over what worked best than anything else, with both sides of the argument often agreeing and respecting one another in the end. This then further influenced him to try and pursue a career in astronomy, as he knew that his education in stars and his passion for trying to push the limits and see just how much someone could do would be tested in a path such as this.
This is where he is now. Studying here and there, Helios ambitiously has driven himself to hopefully go to a college surrounding the study of stars, and believes that he'd be able to help change the field for the better when he finally gets in. For now, he spends his time quietly mapping out star charts and chatting with those that have the time to spare.
