Description
THIS ROUND IS CLOSED. The results are up in a journal entry over at #ClubMTTRules (special rules apply to #60, see below):
1. To try for an MTT, you have to draw a full-body, full-color picture of them. Background is not necessary, but a bonus nevertheless. Your entry may be a ref sheet. You may design a human form for the adoptable you are trying for.
2. Provide name, gender, personality, etc in the artist comments to your entry. Please keep descriptions at a reasonable length, avoid writing entire novels for the MTT's backstory.
3.Submit your entry to the "Adoption contest entries" folder in . Do NOT leave a comment with your entry on this deviation. Just submit.
4. This is not first come, first serve! If more than one person tries out for one MTT, I will be the one picking the winner! However, should you be the only one who tries for a specific MTT, it's all yours no questions asked.
5. Entries will be judged based on effort put into the art and the creativeness of the personality/history. If/how you have incorporated the setting (which you can read about here [link] in fact, familiarizing yourself with everything in the "resources" folder is a good idea.) can also play a big part. I will try my best to not judge only according to art skill.
6. You do not have to ask if you can enter! Absolutely anyone can join in, but please do not enter if you already have two or more MTTs.
7. Keep all parts of your entry to a single deviation. If parts of your entry are uploaded separately, it is more difficult for me to keep track of and it may not help your chances.
-------------
Rules for #60:
1. For the chance to have permission to design your own MTT completely from scratch, you have to draw a full color, full body picture of anyone else's existing MTT. You can find a comprehensive collection of ref sheets in #ClubMTT .
2. Shading, background, etc is not mandatory, but will probably help.
3. The MTT you draw does not have to be one of mine, nor will you get bonus points for drawing one of mine. All MTTs are equal here. If you already have an MTT, it would be nice if you didn't just draw your own for this.
>>>>>>4. Do not design your own MTT as an entry.<<<<<< do NOT, I repeat DO NOT.
I will be giving THREE people permission to design their own this time around!
You have ten days to turn in your entry, so the deadline is March 6th!
-------------
About #54 - This is an MTT/Yol mix. Just keep in mind that it can't stickify it's legs, otherwise everything is much the same, human form and all!
#55 is a child. Just keep that in mind!
Sorry for being so late with this, hope you all enjoy regardless.
#53 & #55 were drawn by =Zukuro
#56 was drawn by *zebraffes
#57 was drawn by *forrgotenrose
#58 was drawn by =Jeep-The-Dragon
#59 was drawn by =DemonML
Thank you all SO SO much for the awesome designs! Your efforts are greatly appreciated by both me and everyone else

I'm not gonna say anything to ~RAWR-keikz about what she said, because we all know it was out of line. I do want to say I feel her evaluation of #57 is very wrong though. I hardly find him boring at all, matter of fact, and this is the honest truth, he is the one I would try for, if I was to try for one this round. I love more simple patterns myself, they are ones I can draw over and over again without wanting to shoot myself. I also really love the green color on him, and it goes beautifully with the darker orange. I also know he would look really nice in his humanoid form, and MTTs spend most of their time in that form...so..
I think you did a lovely job, *forrgotenrose , and I'm sure whoever wins him will give him lots of love. It just goes to show that different people have different taste, and ~RAWR-keikz might think that he is boring, but he is my personal fave. This is one of the reasons I think it's fantastic that there are quite a few people making MTT adoptables now, because they all end up so different. All you guys did a great job, and you help make this species/group/contest interesting. Keep up the good work!

My back went out... so I've been unable to sit at my computer to color my other two drawings that I was going to enter. Ann, what would you suggest? Just leave the #60 tryout I had already entered and cancel out my other would-be entries, or...is there a possible chance for me to get one more day to work on it. *winces* oww...back still hurtssss. Ann normally doesn't mind if an entry is just a little bit late. Normally she takes a few days to judge them anyhow. I bet if you submitted it today it would be ok, I have never known her to be fussy about it at all. c:
Also, yes. If you want a chance at designing your own you have to draw someone else's MTT. A good place to find a lot of them is here.. [link] . Hope that helps, good luck in the contest.

32% is a little much, try more like 5%
bigger alterations are allowed after a certain amount of time, but at first at least the adoptable should remain more or less the same.

ok looking at it more, 58 isn't that bad. i do like asymmetry for some things like feet, but not where every foot is that different. so it's really only 59. which is the number i meant to say for the scar thing in my previous comment.

RAWR-keikz [2013-03-04 22:47:54 +0000 UTC]
i love 55 to pieces but unfortunately i won't be able to participate in this.
57 is kind of boring.
but i must say, i do NOT like 58 or 59. partly cuz the random markings are how you once described old mari, like they were made by a 13 year old trying to make them unique and different. also 58's colors. don't like.
i also believe that adoptables should be drawn as if they have perfect, clean, flawless bodies, not with a bunch of scars and things. not that i have a problem with scars, it just feels like 'man, i really like 58, but i wish it didn't have so many scars, or those types of scars.'
just my personal opinion, not really trying to offend anyone.

annicron In reply to RAWR-keikz [2013-03-05 08:37:04 +0000 UTC]
lmao my dear, you are going out of your way to offend as many people as you possibly can.
Had it been my design you're insulting, I would have rolled my eyes and moved on. But seeing as these people took time out of their lives to draw and design these for me, for nothing more than a thank you, I have to say you are being extremely rude in criticizing them like this. =DemonML and =Jeep-The-Dragon have been of so much help to me and to the MTT community that I cannot condone anyone making comments like this. This is not the place to talk about how unappealing one or the other design is, just keep it to yourself, thanks.
And you'll notice the overwhelming majority of the adoptables are clean and unmarred. I think scars and other quirks can help people develop interesting backstories and personalities. In any case, it brings some variety to the whole shebang. I try my best to make each and every MTT adoptable unique, in bodybuild and shape and markings and scars and other such things help make each one different than the rest and I am glad my adoptable volunteers make use of these possibilities. I am against putting out adoptables like a conveyor belt, just recoloring one base again and again.
In the future, please think twice before you leave a comment like this.

i did say 'not really trying' becuz i knew the way i worded it was rather rude. but the point of my comment came from the fact that i like to throw my opinions in people's face. i know it's not a particularly likeable trait, that's why i don't try to make friends on the internet. but i also think people should be able to take the criticism of what somebody doesn't like about something they did. yes the 13 year old thing was too much and if i could go back i would have probably not said that part, even before i read these.
i'll admit, when you put it that way, about recoloring the same base, i suppose i would rather some have things like scars. i guess it was just the particular scars i didn't like.
other people can like -and dislike- whatever they want. i noticed plenty of people trying out for 59 and i say good luck to them. it was just my opinion, the reason i didn't like it.
i said in a later comment that i do kind of like 58. but i did still insult it and 59 in the same way so i am legitimately sorry to jeep and demonml about the way i said it.
in the end, i guess i'm saying that people should be free to say what they like and dislike about something. though as i've said, not necessarily as rudely as i did.

It is a bit rude to say, since those adopts where NOT designed by ann but by three other people who worked hard to make them for her- for EVERYONE.
Let me first say that, while yes it is your personal opinion to dislike an adopt, you do not need to leave such a comment and your reasons combined with the way you have worded your dislike sound bossy and quite cutting, so it's hard not to feel offense. When reading you describe the markings as 'a 13 year old trying to be unique' it's rude. no two ways about it. ALSO it's one thing for ann to describe her feelings of her OWN previous design that way (everyone does it) but another thing entirely for YOU say it about someone ELSE. To just go through like a list 'This is boring, this is childish and this should not have scars' is quite a put down. Plus; if you're not even applying for one, why be so critical anyway? it just seems unnecessary to me.
Just because their scars stick out more due to their inner flesh color doesn't even mean that those scars are that extreme; really examine your own body, you have scars you probably don't even notice. yeah the tail is a bit extreme but easy to interpret into style. A perfectly clean/unmarked body does not exist.
The scars give an adopt a little bit of character, personality and life, so most of these adopts are too clean if anything. Again; people are also allowed to interpret those scars into their style. I know that only someone who loves that adopt will really go for it and win it.
I personally think that adopt is beautiful and would pick that one to apply for, myself because it stands out, it is unique and I would have endless fun coming up with stories about how it got all those scars.
If someone likes the colors but not the scars they don't love the adopt as a whole and should wait for another round. it's simple: if you don't like an adopt wholly, don't tryout for it. These are characters that need to be won through depth of character and understanding of the world.
However you want to look at it the very simple answer is thus: these adoption rounds are supposed to be for fun. This is supposed to be something for fun and when you pick it apart like this it just makes everyone fall limp in their chairs and make groaning noises. not that any negative opinion will be taken badly but there are better ways to voice these opinions without offending someone. As it is; I felt the need to say something.

becuz i am not trying out for one, i treat this as just another picture in my inbox. that's why i am so critical. there have been other pictures that i criticized like this. well not so much like this cuz it was a bit nicer, as i was talking directly to the person. maybe it's a bit like talking behind their back but i don't like to be mean directly to someone. >.>
and trust me, i know bodies aren't flawless. i have plenty of scars, most intentional becuz i wanted them there. though when drawing i think it's... maybe not pointless, but... perhaps a similar word that i can't think of, to put tiny scars that 'you wouldn't even notice.' (not being rude there, just easier to say it with the quotes.) or even some small scars that you would notice that might not look good on a drawing. as i said, it's just that drastic or type of scarring that i didn't like. it's not the color that makes them drastic either.
in the end, i guess i'm saying that people should be free to say what they like and dislike about something. though as i've said, not necessarily as rudely as i did.

people are allowed to like and dislike things, and express those things, however, sometimes it's just not needed. but being rude is another thing all together. I also like the saying "opinions are like assholes; everyone has one but you don't need to be shoving it in everyone's face."
To expound on what I said in my previous comment Not all negative opinions will be taken badly, but when you take a negative opinion and attach rude remarks to it, the creative critique is lost and you are bound to be met with ill feelings.
It's actually worse to not want to say something negative about a person or their art to them directly. so yes it is like going behind someones back, which, to me is worse. that is what makes it hurtful and rude.

RAWR-keikz In reply to Zukuro [2013-03-07 20:36:48 +0000 UTC]
i don't have much to say about most of this, becuz i know you're right, but i've already said things about it. i am a rather rude person on the internet. and i can't take back something that i already said, even if i wouldn't have said it if i was commenting now. it is quite rare for me to do something like this though, so i'm not an asshole all the time.
i would think it was worse to talk behind their back if i was nice to them and pretended to like them or their drawings or whatever to their face. but i don't. if i don't usually like them, i typically just ignore them. maybe i'll talk about how they're an idiot, but usually i'd also say that to their face if i saw them and had occasion to do so. sometimes i actually really like them or, for example in the case of jeep, their art. i follow jeep and have favourited many things. but if those people do something i don't like but isn't a bad thing, i don't want to hurt their feelings, so i'll complain to other people.
