3 photos, combined and adjusted in Photoshop by me.Taken from the parking lot area, before the foot-only path began up the side of Mt. Vesuvius. There is essentially 2 craters on Vesuvius. The 2nd is more-or-less inside the 1st, which is much much larger. This is looking at the edge of the 1st. We were inside that crater, going to hike up and look at the 2nd.
