Aww...you should be here in America today...it's a national holiday...Labor Day (www.dol.gov/laborday/history.h… ...it spells the official end of summer because after today the lifeguards seasonal employment ends. Tomorrow the beaches will have signs that read "swim at you own risk". It's also a day for backyard barbecues and such...but it's kinda overcast right now. And for some reason Labor Day highly discounted furniture sales.

Unfortunately the link will not open, but if I understand it correctly it's a yearly national tribute to the people who worked for the well-being of their country.
It sounds like a lot of fun and it's a shame I can't be there too.

Yes it is the history of its beginnings. I proposed to the congress back in the 1800s that we lazy workers should have an extra day to rest and dam if they didn't buy it

Yes, we do. The way that you described it though made me laugh. It sounded sarcastic.
Plus, the beaches at FL don't really close and lifeguards stay during the weekends. 
Labor Day for me it means that all these turists will get back home and finally Central FL will calm down a little.
I guess that it means different things for everyone .

Ahh I did not know that. I thought it was a national thing the closing of beaches. But it makes sense that it should be the northern beaches because no one really swims between Oct-April.
