She's one of my favorite historical heroines for having so much bravery and gumption to go and do what she believed was right. She lead the French armies and saved New Orleans from the English. I read that she also predicted that she would get shot with an arrow in her shoulder but she wouldn't die.

There's also a myth that when she was burned(3 times), her heart didn't catch on fire, and they took it as a sign that she was so pure hearted and that she shouldn't have been burned at the stake.

It's not a very good quality picture, but this is the best I could do for now. I sketched out the original drawing, then inked it, then used colored pencils and highlighted some fire parts to make it look brighter.

(In case it's hard to tell, I drew her tied to the stake with the fire surrounding her, then the crucifix is in front of her. I read that before she died she asked to have it held up so she could cite prayers before she died.)

I had a lot of fun drawing this. I'll be going back through to improve the photo quality and do some touch ups! (I was itching to post sOMETHING that is finished ish so there are some details not quite completed, I was an eager beaver! )
