Here's a Red photo that I've been meaning to post for a while now; goodness, I love it so much. Check out all of that Pokégear, aren't I such a nerd? ><That backpack was the perfect bag to wear while sporting my Red cosplay for the local Fall Toy Show, I felt so proud wearing it around while clutching my Pikachu. Believe it or not, I actually found that backpack for $1.95 at a local thrift store - the moment I saw it, I thought "I'm taking that with me. No doubt." It is now my most favourite backpack everrrrrr.

Heeeey! How hard were making Cheren and Red's outfit? I like both and I want to try being them for Sakura-con, but it looks hard...Do you have any tips/advice??

Hmmmm, well it really depends on how much sewing experience you have. I'd say that Red was easier than Cheren; the lapels for Cheren were a challenge since there is no pattern for them and making lapels is difficult to begin with. Also, making jackets isn't the most straightforward thing, plus the pattern for his needed to be altered. As for Red, his is a little simpler, though still difficult to make, mainly due to lack of patterns, so really, it depends on how much sewing experience you have and how good you are at altering patterns.

For Red, the jacket was made from scratch while the gloves were highly altered (they were originally those "one size fits all" dollar store gloves), and the hat was just a red ball cap before the white and silver parts were added.

One more thing, where did you get the wig?? And how much was it?? (I'm debating if I should cut my hair for it (because it's really long; over 15 inches from the back of my ears) or not XD)

Ah yes, well I got the wig off of Milanoo, however I strongly recommend Ebay, since it's far cheaper and faster with delivery. I would say definitely go for a wig if you don't wish to cut your hair; if you're worried about fitting your hair under the wig, I can tell you that such a matter is nothing to worry about. I have really long hair myself and can say that fitting my hair in a wig has never really been a problem; just be sure to get a wig cap... Though you probably know this already.

Well, if you were to participate in an auction, the only time you'd have to spend money is if you won the auction, not if you simply placed a bid. However, when it comes to buying wigs, you don't want to participate in auctions, but rather just buy from sellers. You do this by, after typing in your Ebay search, switching to "Buy It Now" sales (I would also recommend choosing the option that filters out sales without free shipping). Look for sellers with an over 95% buyer rating, with fair pricing (this should be between $17 and $25 for a short wig), lots of information on the product and a good return policy. As long as you do that, everything should be fine, and if you need me to look over the listing you end up finding, I'd be happy to do that.
Well, I guess I just... Styled them to look like their hair? OTL It's hard to explain; Cheren has his short bangs with longer hair at the sides, plus the cowlick, while Red has more classic anime boy hair, so I just styled them differently both times to match the characters. I recommend getting Got2b hairspray for this, since it works best. Also be sure to practice to make sure you'll be able to get the results you want when it comes to prep for the cosplays' debuts.

See, I'm thinking of getting my hair cut anyways (because I want to donate), so I was thinking I can just get my hair cut and get a long wig XD Or style the long wig to make it look like Red, or just get a short wig and style that. It's kind of all up there right now XD

Ok, well for Red, I would not recommend getting that short wig. See, the lower the prices get, the sketchier and less reliable the products get (one thing I go by is "if it's too good to be true, it probably is"). I would recommend looking for a short wig in the $15-$20 range - with those prices, you'll be safer and the product will be far more reliable.
As for the long wigs, I'd say those are probably a little more reliable, though the pricing is suspiciously low (the thing that may be dragging the price down is that the wigs may be drastically thinner than what is shown in the photos). However, they still have a lot of info and photos for the product, plus the return policy seems agreeable. I guess my assessment is that for the long wigs, it could go either way.
I wish you the best in whatever you end up choosing to do regarding your hair! It's always good to explore your options.

There's nothing keeping them from doing so, and those actions do, in fact, make them less reliable, so it's best to find sellers who are less sketchy.

Nope, can't say that I have! As for budgets, I usually go around $20 for a short wig (give or take) and $25-30 for a long wig ($30 for a wig as long as my Maya wig, shorter I would rather spend less).
Yeah, I've started looking at hotels to split with my friends and my reg is going to be a Christmas present from a friend. <3
I'm planning to be Vanellope on Friday with my Wreck-It Ralph group, and then Maya on Saturday for an Ace Attorney skit my friends and I are doing. I probably won't be there for Sunday since the boat we'll need to take only leaves in the morning, but if the hotel we end up choosing is cheap enough, we may be able to stay the extra day. We will get that photo, don't you worry!
