Description
First time ever using watercolours and a pen.. ive made a folder called practice and will be uploading practice stuff to there.. like this thing i drew in about 10 mins hahahI don't know whether I should put these deviations in the scrap folder or not.. so any help on that would be much appreciated
Also, if you watch me made sure you click the box that says scraps in the dev-watch setting.. so that way you can be notified if i do upload stuff in there
Note to self - draw with pen AFTER you put down the watercolour

I love it, but try making the lines curve by putting your hand down sideways then turning your hand.(Not hating, just tipping)

I'm not proficient with watercolors so I'm not sure how much help I can be, but it all looks pretty good to me. Her eyebrows look a tad small, but that may have been intentional. The same basic shading you use with pencils applies to watercolors as well; places that are curved or that would be in shadow are colored darker. And yes, it's best to ink in the pencil lines after applying the watercolors or else the water will cause the ink to run and make horrible blotches across your hard work (at least that's what happened to me when I last attempted using a brush). Another artist that I assist here on deviantART who goes by the name DevotedFan012 has tried his hand at watercolors recently as well, with pretty impressive results. He could probably offer better advice than I. Despite a few flaws here and there it still looks really good, AppleBeard!

Her eyes are a little large, but otherwise it looks lovely! Her mane in particular turned out well, I like the subtle highlights and shading in the forelock. As for where to put the deviation itself, I'd say leave it in its own folder instead of in your scraps. Nonetheless, I can't wait to see your next watercolour drawing!

heheh yeah It can go wrong super fast! I always did test strokes first just to make sure that I had the right lightness of the colour before going onto the drawing..
I did one after this and it was so horrible i put a line through it x)

i bet that line was a terrible mistake D: (probably still better than all my attempts )
I liked messing around with them, but i was using watercolour pencils that were 20+ years old xD so most of my colours didnt work as intended xD
