I noticed the Lizards disappear shortly after the work begins. and don't show up till the end. Did you have to layer them in differently for some reason? : O Or did you decide you didn't want them then decide to put them back again? Just to add I like seeing the steps like this because when you see the original idea, with most artists, It starts out something simple. Then you can visually see their ideas changing as they form new visions each inspired by the last. The end result always ends up so much more beautiful. Like your lizards. I think the final product is awe inspiring. Especially your decision to put that one curled around that bottle adding an extra cute element to the picture. Let us not forget the boy's changes though. The slow progression as the artists decide which emotion the boy should take on. As one can see from the beginning the expression is vague and hard to describe. But as the art continues to grow so to does the over all feeling expressed in the art. ^ ^ Sorry. Your art was so good I had to gush a little.

I often change my mind aout the composition or some elements. I don't really remember why I forget to display the lizard layer, maybe it was an error or I was not sure about the interest ^^

Probably the latter. More along the lines of emphasizing the main image. Most would be interested in how you drew the boy. I tend to have "out of the norm" interests. Take any majestic or moving image and I'll probably be admiring the clouds or something. lol. That's just me.

There are 8 layers :

- coloring (details)
- selective color adjustement
- color balance adjustement
- line art + background details
- sketch line art character
- sketch line art background
- background rough coloring
- Background gradiant

i have a question. you always say you should try using three colors or less. but what to do when you're painting someone's character who has a set color palette?

If the character's color are too abundant, you can :
- work the atmosphere of the drawing (night, twilight,...)you will adapt and reduce the palette of the character, choosing only 2-3 colors + skin color.
- build the sheme of color of the background with the color of the character.

To sum, this is a question of adaptation, background to the character or character to background.
