Well, finally got the painting finished. I attempted several different things here - mainly with how and in what order I apply shading and highlights - particularly on the wing and hair. I feel as if I've learned a bit, and so I'm very happy for that.Also attempted some texture on the pillow, but it's dark and sort of hard to see. Still, I might fiddle with the effect in the future.

I think it's adorable. Absolutely great. Although, a pointer, I see that is hair that falls down around the wing, it doesn't look like it's falling down at a curve enough, like it should be falling down along towards his belly more... unless it was caught in just the perfect position that it really isn't getting pulled down that much, which it very well could be. Like I said, this is an amazing piece. I like the shading a lot too! The colors blend just right, and everything just seems in place.

Thank you for the compliment and the feedback. I think you're right about the hair, indeed, I'll fully admit that hair (amongst other things) is something I need more practice and experience with. Still, live and learn, yeah?
