Inktober #25

Also finally jumping on the faux-companion-card bandwagon with my Inquisitor Trahaearn Lavellan.

Notes on this:

The card this is based on is the Two of Swords of the Minor Arcana.
(Obviously, it’s two daggers but hey. The dual blade dagger is almost as big as a short sword anyway.) However, it also works as the Seven of Sword, with each of the points in the stylised Inquistion throne representing a blade. Both fit the playing style I chose for my Inquisitor, which was counting on diplomacy, schemes and being a bit of an opportunist.

I was thinking about using the Eight of Swords as a base, but the Inquisitor has more agency in his decisions than what the card would represent.This said, the daggers are held to his own throat, because I still wanted to signify the “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” a lot of the decisions in this game hold.

The colour scheme is based on the theme and name I chose for my Inquisitor: muted greys coming closest to the steel/iron theme I picked.

The background shows a silhouette of Skyhold and the Breach.

The thorny vines are based on the icon for “did not romance anyone” in the Dragon Age Keep.

The picture has it’s issues, but hey, Inktober is a bit tricky. Mixing inks to get the right colour can definitely be a challenge.
