Overall demeanor: Axel normally doesn't speak much; letting his creator, Dayanara, do most of the talking in certain situations. He is, for the most part, rather calm - although he can get annoyed easily. He's very patient and thoughtful, as well.

There is an alternate side to him that is only seen under extreme circumstances. He can go insane; killing practically everything in his path. Dayanara is the only person who can calm him when he is in this state. Luckily for her, it rarely happens.

Abilities: Being Rayman's clone, Axel has many characteristics of the limbless hero - his lack of arms give him an advantage in combat; as well as help him access hard-to-reach places.

He is known to be equal to Rayman when fighting with his fists, but Axel also has an upper hand - he uses weapons as his main form of attack. No one is quite sure how he was able to get his hands on a small pistol and pocket knife, however.

Drawbacks: Axel can be rather disobedient at times. He also has a tendency to run off by himself and get into trouble. Most of this stems from the fact that he's bored and has nothing better to do. He tends to snap at people when he's annoyed of them, or even so much as threaten them with one of his weapons if he's angry enough.

When he was created, Axel was made from both Lums and Darktoons (complete opposites; symbolizing good and evil), and the two power sources canceled each other out. Consequently, Axel is fairly neutral - which wasn't Dayanara's intention. He is also tied to her through magic, as she gave him some of her power to keep him alive after his creation. Unfortunately, this means that if something were to happen to one of them, the other would feel the same effects.

History: Axel was originally created to be Rayman's evil clone - rivaling the hero in his strengths. Dayanara had lured Rayman into her cathedral and was able to use his powers to create a replica. Rayman escaped before the process was complete, leaving Axel with an unformed skull as a result. He then attacked Dayanara, since his condition caused him to go completely insane. At the time, the Darktoons' power overrode that of the Lums, so he was subject to acts of violence. The nymph knew that her creation was dying (as he was still incomplete) so she transferred her power into him to complete the process. That transferral not only saved his life, but also kept him sane.

Other facts: Axel and Dayanara live in a giant cathedral underneath the Land of the Livid Dead - a place in which most call the "Underworld." The two hardly do much, unless they're coming up with a plan to destroy Rayman. Most of the time, their plans fall through, and they go back to their everyday life... which consists of Dayanara painting her nails and Axel always looking for interesting things to do.

Axel also has an interest in music. He regularly plays the large organ in the sanctuary of the church as a means to stifle boredom. It becomes almost therapeutic for him; he uses it to release anger or depression - two feelings he experiences often.

Dayanara acts as his puppet master: causing Axel to feel as though he is only there to be used as a pawn in her schemes. Most of his hidden bitterness comes from this fact alone, and he constantly wishes that he could break away from her... although their magical tie keeps him from doing so.

Trivia:

• Axel originated as a scientist back when I created him in October of 2009. The idea only lasted for about a week.

• In the first pitch of his story, Axel was Rayman's father, but it switched to an older brother in the second pitch.

• His appearance was heavily influenced by the unlockable "Gangsta" costume on Rayman Raving Rabbids.

• In Axel's early story, he and Rayman were half-brothers. Out of jealousy and anger that Axel had experienced as a child, he murdered their parents, and hunted down Rayman as the years went on.

• Axel was originally a psychopath who had absolutely no heart. That changed when I came up with his most current story involving Dayanara.

• During the time I came up with Axel, I had no knowledge of any Rayman game other than Raving Rabbids.

• Dayanara did not become part of Axel's story until January of 2012.

My gosh, this took forever! I sincerely apologize for this turning out so long, but I just had a lot to explain!

Once I can come up with several positions and stuff, I'll start working on Dayanara's ref. sheet. I know you all would much rather see that done.

But yeah - keep in mind some things about Axel's physical appearance may be changed over time. Just lettin' you all know.
