Back story: Talon is the descendant of an Order of Knights from Babylon, noble warriors and protectors of their people in ancient times but after the fall of Babylon the Order went into hiding from vengeful enemies, fading into legend. In the present day Talon was mostly raised since childhood by his Grandmother Estelle due to circumstances with his family that even he isn’t sure on. She would tell him many stories about his heritage and of Babylon’s many legends and myths, including ones about the Magpie Herald of Babylon, the Seeker who is destined to locate the lost heir to the throne and restore their people to their ancestral home. Talon mostly didn’t think much about these tales, just they were interesting stories but he remembers them all. Things took a turn for the worse one day when Talon’s Grandmother died in her sleep and had little to leave him except the house which he had to sell in order to afford to give her a decent funeral service and burial. Talon spent a long time homeless and had to toughen up to survive on the streets, developing a thuggish exterior and taking random jobs with criminals until he caught the attention of Hex the Bat, an evil witch who was looking for a champion and bodyguard and offered him power in exchange. He accepted and was branded with Hex’s mark on his hand, binding him to her servitude but also granting him super strength. Along with Hex’s other servant Claw the Minion, Talon would steal artefacts for the witch and beat up anyone who gets in their way, eventually coming to blows with Team Eclipse, a group of heroic treasure hunters. The two groups would become arch enemies after their first battle over an artefact, Talon mostly facing against the echidna Lunas due to their super strength but also develop a rivalry with Umbra the Wolf since the raven would also make use of random mystical items given to him by Hex to gain any kind of advantage over his foes. Since the leader of Team Eclipse Umbra possesses the Omni Rings, which Hex desires, they would clash against each other many times either to claim a recently discovered artefact of potential magical power or as part of a scheme to steal the Omni Rings. These times would start to change when the Seeker of Babylon Magnus the Magpie entered the picture and allied himself with Team Eclipse, Talon was confronted by the very same stories he grew up hearing from his grandmother, and while remaining loyal to Hex and her new master Lord Gwynn, the raven couldn’t shake an uneasy feeling and a nagging conscience that urged him to help the Seeker secretly. Talon’s life grew more complicated when he met a wealthy young crow girl named Mimi, the two quickly hit it off and started seeing each other despite the dangerous threat Talon’s colleagues posed. Eventually things came to a head when Hex’s latest scheme involved kidnapping the Elder Mentors of Magnus in order to break into the fabled Archives of Babylon to steal its secrets. Talon managed to free the elders but was caught in the act by Claw who informed his master of the betrayal. Hex used the mark she branded Talon with to steal his free will as punishment, forcing him into battle at the archives, armed with a new artefact, a clawed gauntlet with power over winds along with their other forces. During the fight Umbra used his Omni Ring power to free Talon of his mark and from Hex’s control so he could join the heroes in repelling the evil forces. Now freed from his pact with Hex and with a renewed sense of purpose, Talon swore to redeem himself by serving Babylon as a wandering Knight, travelling around protecting others from dark forces like Hex, forces like the Nightwings, an ancient organisation of corrupted Babylonians that have allied themselves with Hex's master and seek to turn all avian mobians into creatures like themselves. Wielding the Hand of Atlas artefact and an assortment of equipment provided to him by Team Eclipse, Talon fights against these evil beings mostly alone, until he came across the immortal Archie the Dodo, the one remaining Knight of Babylon's past, Gale the Roc an young yet powerful giantess who can change her size at will, and most recently Rhymer the Hover Wisp, who provides power to Talon's new Wispon equipment. Together this small band defend those in need from insidious forces.

Personality: Initially Talon came off as rather simple and thuggish, using brute strength and low cunning to solve problems. However this was merely a personality he developed to survive when living on the streets amongst criminals, and even when working with Hex he preferred to not get on the witch's bad side and just follow orders. Ever since meeting Magnus, the herald of Babylon, this facet of Talon began to crumble away and his inner nobility began to surface until he could no longer stand working for Hex's evil and switched sides. Despite the change of heart, Talon is still rather gruff and stand offish to most except his closest allies like Magnus, and his love Mimi. While now on friendlier terms with Team Eclipse, he still holds some animosity towards them especially Umbra who he has a rivalry with ever since they were enemies. This often leads him to conflict with the heroes at times when they disagree on a situation, or just teasingly insult them to amuse himself. However he and Team Eclipse have a healthy working relationship where Talon would drop by their warehouse to have Rej tune up his Extreme Gear bike and his weapons. While he now believes in doing the right thing, it comes off as begrudgingly at times like he would rather be doing something else but something inside him compels him to act.

Abilities:

Voice of the Ancestors – Babylonian Knights have the ability to hear the voices of ancestral spirits for guidance. While Talon was working for Hex however, this ability was stunted until he met Magnus, then he started getting what he described as nagging headaches that compel him to help the Babylonian Herald. Eventually this ability fully developed once Talon switched sides, the headaches were gone and he can now hear the voices of Babylonian ancestors when he needs advice or to receive warnings.

(Formerly) Hex Mark - When Talon worked for Hex, he was branded with her magical mark which bounded him to serve her under punishment of intense pain whenever she chose, but also granted him super strength.
With the Seven Chaos Emeralds her can achieve a Super Form.

Items/Equipment:

Hand of Atlas Gauntlet – An ancient gauntlet that belonged to a Knight of Babylon named Atlas, a warrior of great strength with the power of the winds. The gauntlet was infused with his power upon his death so anyone who wears it can conjure orbs of spiralling winds in their palm. The gauntlet can also extend an energy blade from the jewel on the back of the hand that can slice through most materials.

Hover Wispon Glove – To compliment the power of the hand of Atlas, Talon requested Rej the Reject to use parts from a Hover Wispon he stole from an Eggman Army facility where he also rescued a wisp named Rhymer, who became Talon's friend, into a glove Wispon that can allow the raven to shoot blasts of air from his palms. When powered up by Rhymer, Talon can use the glove to shoot out a tornado at enemies.

Wisp Capsule: Talon carries around a capsule device to safely store and hide Rhymer when needed. He doesn't keep him in there all the time though.

Hover Wispon Boots – Using the remaining parts from the Hover Wispon to make the glove, Rej also made a pair of hover boots for Talon. These boots allow Talon mid air jumping abilities, slow descent and when powered up by Rhymer limited flight.

Extreme Gear Bike – To travel around the land, Talon was gifted an Extreme Gear bike made by the Babylonian Elder Chronus, Master of Gears who also made Magnus' famous Corsair board. The bike resembles a chopper and while not the fastest gear, it is powerful and can smash through many obstacles.

Anti-Nightwing Gear – In his struggle against the Nightwings, Talon is equipped with a number of gadgets and items to help him battle them. Such as an antidote mixture made by the Babylonian Elder Healer that can cure the Nightwing corruption in it's initial stages or incapacitate a fully corrupted member. This antidote comes in either darts that Talon can shoot from a wrist launcher hidden in his gauntlet, or as a chemical bomb that can neutralise an entire vat of the corruption.

Creator’s Notes: When I first made Talon years ago, he was simply just a henchman alongside Claw the Minion. Just a thug who did the bidding of Hex and was humiliated by the heroes much like the many semi comedic henchman Robotnik had in the cartoons. This all changed in my Rps with my friend whose main character Magnus the Magpie took an interest in the fellow avian and from there character development took hold and over time Talon ceased being a bumbling thug and became a begrudging anti-hero that turned against Hex and went to the side of good. Since then he's had a few adventures but nothing major as far as development goes. Recently however I've been itching to have myself my very own “Shadow” character, a dark rival for Umbra, a Vegeta to his Goku, a former villain turned hero. But I was worried about just making a character from scratch like that out of fear it would be considered a rip off and unoriginal. Then I took another look at Talon and realised he mostly fit the role perfectly, he just needed a few tweeks like his appearance (wasn't enjoying his old purple colour) and some new abilities that expanded on what he already had, namely the magic gauntlet that summons winds. With the introduction of Wispons inspiring the route I took to achieve these new abilities. Was alos a nice opportunity to bring back an old idea I never capitalised on with the Hover Wisp Rhymer who I created as a kinda joke with the Wispbusters stuff. Now Talon has an adorable friend that ties into his new powers. I was concerned that giving him hover boots would raise “Shadow Rip Off” alarms, but after speaking to others about it, I decided it was a non-issue since Talon won't be skating around on these. I hope this new design really catches on.
