Gumball: "Okay, see you later then! IloveyouPenny."

Penny: "What was that?"

Gumball: "Oh, I uh, said that I ... love ... peanuts? YUP, I LOVE peanuts! They taste really great."

Penny: "Gumball, I'M a peanut. That's like me saying 'I like to eat cats.' Maybe you should think twice about the things you say."

Gumball: "But, I DID think twice."

Penny: "Well, then maybe you need to think THREE times. Anyway, see you latter."

Gumball: "NO, WAIT PENNY! COME BACK!! I DIDN'T MEAN PEANUTS!!! I MEANT...um, uh...PONIES!! YEAH, I LOVE PONIES!!! THEY TASTE OF NUT-oh forget it."

Yeah, that was just my one of my FAVORITE conversations from the show...THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL!!!! (Yeah, okay, I think you get the point now ^^) So finally, here it is, my test sketch of Penny Fitzgerald! Aside from Anais, Penny is my favorite female character on the show, mainly because she is the main love interest (Gumball's, obviously), and those couples are always the first choice for me (sorry Gumball/Carrie fans!).

She is a pretty easy character to draw, though at the same time it's a little challenging. Especially her face and antlers, you REALLY need to get those right, otherwise they don't exactly look like her.

What I like about Penny is that unlike most shows that have the often one-sided crush, Penny actually returns Gumball's feelings. The only difference is that she is more subtle about them...the quote above is proof enough. And she's pretty content with her feelings, despite Gumball's many..."quirks". The only reason I can think of why she hasn't come forward to Gumball about her feelings (unless you count The Party, but that's still a stretch) is because she is waiting for Gumball to make the first move...so clearly, this one is going to take a while. I actually find it funny that despite all of the times Gumball accidently blurts out "ILOVEYOUPENNY", she seems to miss it entirely...unless she's just pretending to be oblivious, but with the show's barely existent continuity, I wouldn't count on it. In fact, thanks to said continuity, every time where the events of one episode bring them closer, by the next episode, it's as if it never happened! DX Still, I guess it's okay to let them get away with stuff like that, as long as they are building up to something good!

So, although Penny is not as smart as Anais, she is still a pretty bright and level-headed girl, which is a common trait for most cartoon girls these days, rather than the overly giddy and annoying Dee-Dee and Little Suzies from the Cartoon-Cartoons era (to be clear, I do like both those characters).

So that raps up my concept sketches of TAWOG characters for now, but more work using these characters is soon to come. In fact, if you look at the bottom corner of the image, you'll see a hint as to what the focus of the next one is...

So until then, stay frosty (or, "nutty" in this case...lawlz :3) and...
