Description
Finally, here's the last of the few tutorial images I've been working on, that I feel is presentable. This was actually originally two pictures, but I combined them into one. Like the other two images before this, I did this using the tutorials on polykarbon.com, and too a much larger extent than the last two. For the expressions tutorial, there was a sample head you could print out to use for your expressions, and save yourself time. So I took advantage of that, which is why every single head is identical. I didn't draw them! Only the facial features.Ok, so I'm not going to comment on all twelve heads... overall, I think they turned out well. Some were better than others, but the majority look pretty nice, to me. The only one I think looks pretty bad is "Content". I honestly don't know how it ended up so bad, but she looks cross-eyed, and doesn't even look like she's smiling. I also had a minor smearing accident on "Thoughtful" when I got over-eager to erase the penciling, but it's barely noticable. Aside from that, I think they all look great. The one area of anime styled art I can already tell I need improvement on is the eyes, specifically big female eyes. I never quite got the hang of filling all that space effectively to make it appear like a shiny reflecting eye, so I'll need to practice that more. I can already pretty much say with certainty, that whatever personal style I develop, it will probably be one that doesn't use huge anime-ish eyes
The next time I update, I'll probably have a couple more tutorial pictures from polykarbon, as well as maybe an original piece or two. After that, I'm going to be launching into my fan art adventures, so consider yourself warned. No video game or anime series is safe from my wrath!

hehe, i member seeing these on the polykarbon site yah? ^^ Man, you've got inking down to pat, i can't line/ink for my life v.v; The content does look a tad cross eyed...but it's not really too bad, maybe just try spacing out the eyeballs a lil more next time ^^; I think maybe there's slightly less room between the eyes on the content face also, which may be why she looks kinda cross eyed. I love the disgusted face, that's so cute ^^
I tend to find, from tutorials I read, that female eyes generally have a thicker/darker top line, as comparism to male eyes which are usually much thinner. I usually like lashes too, they tend to help accentuate the eyes a bit more so you dun hafta fill in the area so much : D
They look good though ^^ Keep it up ^^

Yeah, the disgusted one is probably my favorite
Thanks for the comments. I agree that lashes help accentuate female eyes, and it's most definitely a technique I will likely persue in my own original works. But as you know, this picture was done using a tutorial, so I pretty much just stuck to what they told me to do... and they didn't tell me to do lashes Thanks again!
