Woooo!This was done as a favor to a RL friend of mine, an image for a char on a horse RPG that, technically speaking, she hasn't started playing at.
She was great fun to work with, relaxed but still knowing what she wanted, and mucho thanks goes out to her for being how she was! 
So ^^ The horse originally was a bay, then turned into a dappled paint unicorn with feathered feet and.. braids?

*randomly pops in* This is honestly more than likely one of the larger influences in your gallery that made me jump/tackle/pounce/nom/abduct/luff you into the mega-piece you're on now. The whole thing is fantastic, but the way you did the horn especially... It all ties together so perfectly, main, tail, water droplets, all of it. Pretty much impossible to tell where flat reality and drawn manips merge together, with great use of lighting/shadow and color. I mean really, you can See the shadows on the underside of the horse, and yet the sky is a green/grey, which ties in with the green around the horse as far as the water goes, only to fade into that lovely blue. Usually you see a seascape scene and it's blue and more blue, or something similar. Green, grey, blue, the dirty off-white of sea-air clouds, it's all so great. And you can really see the eyes well - so many times the horse eyes are easily overlooked. The yellow tint there is almost vibrant compared to the murky greens.

How long do you usually take on your manipulations?
They're so good, the manes and tails are just incredible, and I love your re-paintings. (:

Aaah it depends manip by manip. Usually I work on them over the span of a week or so, sometimes a couple weeks depending on what I'm doing and how busy I am in RL. Base time spent on this particular image was probably somewhere around 20 hours; not a ton, but not a little either.
