This one took me on a sort of whim, then I couldn't tear myself away from it long enough to do anything else I enjoy - reading, shopping, etc. Well, lets see. There was a lot of painting to this one, and not so much manipulating. I really liked ~stacems-stock s picture of her horse, Boone, and started fiddling around with that. I'm doing a picture for my husband as well and created the bg for that, but he didn't like it, so I was left with a doodled horse and a empty bg... Viola.

I had to put a new back end on the horse. Thought about pimping him out in chrome, adding a new grill, putting a four inch lift.. No, but seriously, new hind quarters and legs, and I put the paint on him as well. From there everything else started expanding, from painting the mane in, and the tail, and the doing the legs and figuring out how to get everything on the hose to pop instead of just fading into the BG. I opened the document up in PS this morning and even to me it looked like his legs cut off at the knee, so I worked on making them appear more vibrant without losing the BG. The horn is hand painted, as is every last flower. I had a lot of fun with this one; I've never turned a chestnut into a paint before.

It's... different! But hopefully it'll be well recieved. I thought about putting mice, butterflies, birds, etc in with her, but... Ya know, it just got to be too much. I didn't want to distract away from the horse itself.

CLOSEUPS -- please check them out if you have the time and inclination. A lot of work went into the details; I almost left the picture as a portrait instead of this.

Simple as that. Everything else was painted by hand, including all the leaves, flowers and wheat stalks. Speaking of which, anyone interested in a foliage brush pack similar to the Enhancement brushes?
