Description
Graphite on A3 160gsm white cartridge.As the title suggests, the second of my series of Callum.
To say that I'm personally pleased with this would be an understatement. While there are little things that niggle me about it, there's no taking away the pride I feel when I see the smile that it brings to someone viewing it. Even enlarged, I'm happy with the detail.

Thank-you so much. I'm trying to find someone who can scan A3 locally as my camera just isn't capable of capturing the true detail of my drawings. I may have to scale down and resort to A4 until I can afford my own A3 scanner.

Beautiful drawing! The model has a beautiful body. Will he model nude?
I have an A3 scanner but there is the problem of that big ol' pond between us. What camera/lens did you use?

There are a couple of nude ones to come (not full frontal) - but he's the same model in 'Chillaxing', 'Poser', and 'Bend'. The original images were taken some years ago when he was 19, and the camera was a fairly basic Nikon film camera! Because I know my way around image editing software, I used to take one image with flash, and one image with directional lighting using a desk lamp of all things! I'd then overlay the images and adjust each layer's transparency and tones to get the rough effect I was looking for. All very basic - but then, I'm an artist not a photographer - and things like equipment and model times was expensive back then. (not that it's any cheaper now!)

Thanks Craig. I must admit that changing my technique slightly has done wonders - all credit to other artists here who have shared their own techniques in tutorials and comments.
Plus, this guy has one of those bodies that is perfectly proportioned, toned and the lines just seem to flow from the pencil with ease. I'm already dreading the day when I finish the final one of him, and have to look elsewhere. There's probably another 3 or 4 of him to come, and then that's it.
