I love the way you make our minds play with this image - Poetry visualized ! Β
To me , this reminds me, we are all made of stardust :
"For my part I know nothing with any certainty but the sight of the stars makes me dream."
~Vincent Van Gogh~

One of the alchemical operations, supposed to be one of the ultimate achievements, was the blending of water and fire, the union of opposites. It is also the Hieros gamos, having several meanings, is in Jungian psychology, the blending of anima and animus that leads to the awakening of the unconscious unified self. I donβt know if that has anything to do with this work, but it stood out to me.

It's really interesting how totally different things relate, at a certain point. This image was born in my mind indeed as union of opposites, that you also mention. It's from the union of opposites that everything is born. In this case, the opposites in my mind were... man and woman. 23 is the number of chromosomes with which each sex contributes to create a new human being. This image is a metaphor for that. But I don't want to speak more about it because I want unbiased viewers, I may even have said already too much.
Again, thanks for the insightful comment.

Very beautiful. I really like the swirl of water around her and how it glows. It's the perfect lightsource to light up your character. I also like the reflected moonlight in the water, which leads the viewer deeper into the image. And I really like the girl, how she looks into the camera.
