Description This piece is to 'inform' people about the beauty the can see from their own home (Well, it's not realistic, I donlt think you'll be seeing 2 planets that close), but I've been outside during the night starting up @ the stars and I occasionally see a comet or 2. Special thanks to *alyn for all his help.

I do not know if you noticed, but your first comment is somebody with a very valid point. Your piece looks like a complete rip off of this: [link]

I am not accusing you of anything, but an explaination would be nice. Everything from the color to the concept is the same.

evanescent-void [2004-03-26 00:48:19 +0000 UTC]

Looks good, but you have a lot of explaining to do, because this looks awfully familiar to my piece here:

[link]

Everything from the color, the two planets, the large star placement and formation, the comet, the shining star. What the hell man?

this is my 2nd space piece and was simply heaverly inspired, it is not a rip though it looks very familiar. i admit it wasn't the greatest thing to do, kind of copy someones style, but it is practice for me. i'm very sorry about that :S

It's not the fact that you used my piece for concept, but the fact that you didn't note me or even give me any credit, you never mentioned a thing, did you think I wasn't going to see this? Just, give credit to the proper people, if you use someone's piece for concept, or something to trace.

What a sweet deviation.
Use of only a couple of colours goes beutifully here

The delicate details and shadown on the planets are great, what program did you use?

what a stunningly beautiful scene. if i had a view like that from my house, i'd be sitting outside for hours every night.

i'm liking the combination of vector and space art here. the sky looks great, and you've got some nice texture work and lighting on the planets. good stuff!

this is absolutely perfect who doesn't climb out on their balcony n stare up at the stars? it reminds of sth that Jostien Gaarder said in one his books..it went sth like :we are insignificant in the fermament, our plant a tiny speck.
it went STH like that lols..it was 'Through a glass, darkly'. u really get that feeling here, when u think bout how much crap there really is there, n how tiny n small everything most ppl do is in comparision.this is gonna be my wallpaper for ages :+fave:!

everything?

article-iv In reply to steve-o-mac [2003-12-28 01:29:28 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that is 100% photoshop. What's so hard to believe about it ? There is ton's of space pieces which are like 20 x better then mine, so I gues you don't believe they made theirs either ? Do you live in a closet ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

steve-o-mac In reply to article-iv [2003-12-28 03:52:08 +0000 UTC]

I'm not talking about the space part, I'm talking about how the guy looks, even the best people who work with photoshop can't pull something like that off.

I just find it odd that the planet and stars can look ok but the guy and the telescope look perfect, I would assume someone with the skill to make someone look that real would make amazing stars and planets also.

I'm talkin like Greg Martin style good.

article-iv In reply to steve-o-mac [2003-12-28 08:44:48 +0000 UTC]

What's so good about hte vector (sillouete) part ? It's a vague outline of a person sitting with a telescope. I had a book with a picture of a person/telescope and i just created something similar. The bottom part was by far the easiest and took like a minute or so to make. There is little or no detail, just plain black.

very nice... I love how you have it scaled... with the sky watcher and his equipment so small compared to the sky and all that it holds. Quite deserving of a dd. Congrats and great job

Wow, I love this. Yep, you definitely got the message to me. Looking at this really reminds me of how I always wanted to climb out my window, lay on my back on the roof, and just stare at the stars at 2 am in the morning. With my best friends. I always had the urge to do this, but I wouldn't want my neighbors to see a crazy little middle schooler like me on a roof and think I'm a burglar....

I think this is a really expressive piece. Definitely a :+fave:

Bye. I'm gonna go climb out my window now. Don't tell my mom.
