Up In The Castle It’s A Real Hassle, No Thanks To The Spooky Phantom:

- Far off the shores of Coolsville USA was a place known as Haunted Isle, the location of Vasquez Castle. A pirate named the structure after himself. In his prime he had sailed the seven seas alongside such other (and even far more notorious in nature) pirates such as Redbeard and Iron Face. Deciding to retire from piracy as things started to heat up between the pirates and the Royal Navels of the american colonies of the area began to extinguish the flame that was piracy. He fled northward to the then smaller settlement that later became “Coolsville” and built the castle all for himself w/ the riches he acquired in his years of pirating. What was left he hid in an undisclosed location on the island. Was a massive recluse to the point no one knew the actual time and date of his death. Though many speculated that it occurred when the island became shrouded in a dense mist that almost never lets up. Said to have been the work of the ex-pirate’s ghost in order to keep people away from his buried treasure. Centuries later in the late 20th century, around the 60’s to be exact, a master magician turned criminal, Bluestone The Great, hid out on the island from the authorities. He, like many before, sought the elusive treasure of the haunted island. He donned a disguise and used his skills as a magician to create the Phantom. Thought to have been the pirate’s ghost by those who dared journeyed to the island and witnessed the spooky spectre. This went on for months till one night, Bluestone witnessed the ghostly aparation of the REAL Vasquez, or so he believed. Frightened, he turned to flee the spirit when in his haste he stepped and tripped on his own Phantom costume and tumbled down the large flight of stairs. When he finally reached the bottom he was dead; his neck had broke. Now his spirit haunted the castle. Cursed to now and forever be in search of the hidden treasure and to keep others away. An even denser haze crept over the island afterward. Decades later in the 21st century, Mystery Inc. had found themselves lost in the mist and forced to go ashore Haunted Isle for the time being until the haze cleared up enough for navigation. The Phantom, believing they were also after the treasure like himself and many before, went after the gang to dispose of them after not heading the many warnings. With the little equipment they had and could find, they set a trap for the Phantom and successfully caught him (after a few previous mishaps/failed attempts) and unmasked revealing his identity as Bluestone. During their trapping of the ghost the gang had found the now no longer lost treasure of Vasquez. Having been sealed up w/in the brick walls of the lower sections of the castle. Now that he had found it, his ghost was able to move on. Before the gang could give any kind of solace, the castle began to crumble and collapse. The gang barely made it out before it fell atop of them. As the dust cleared, they realized they could see the sun again. With the sky and mist gone, they made their way back to the mainland.
