A commissioned sculpture for justingamedesign.deviantart.co… who asked me to sculpt Aetos, the main protagonsit for a game he is developing, after he saw both my fantasy sketches and my police and fire sculpture commission on tumblr.

I carved and sculpted each large feather before welding them onto the wing. I used a special mixture of paraffin and victory sculpture wax to make the wings. Adding the paraffin to the mixture made the wax more rigid and a lot less sticky.

By the way, if anyone who sees this post and knows of a better wax to use for small sculptures, please recommend one. I did like this wax, but I definitely prefer something that is both harder and lighter colored.
