I donβt, but I know people who do. This is what AppleDash essentially looks like.
Neither of them are real romantics, and neither of them really care much about their own gender. Had RD been a guy, their relationship would of been identical.
The only difference would of been Rainbow Blitz would of likely popped the question after Last Roundup. RDβs heart is as huge as Equestria itself in sheer size, and a lot of it is reserved for Applejack, probably her first REAL friend.
Keeping her feelings bottled up for too long leads to breakdowns like this at 0:01

This is part of what I think is a real oversight on people who argue that its a kids show and should never be about romance.
Lets start with the title, My Little Pony. 'My' 'Little' Pony; its a complete misnomer. Nobody owns them, and they are all 17 to 19 years of age, already onto adulthood. Most already are settled in their way of life.
Further more, how many of their personalities are based on gender? Rarity and...maybe Fluttershy? That's pretty much it. So what is the big difference between shipping straight and shipping gay at that point? What's the difference between gender at ALL at that point?
Perhaps I'm a little enlightened or used to it then others. I watched and read the excellent martial arts/comedy/romance: Ranma 1/2. Ramma 1/2 was actually one of the foundation anime beside DBZ and Sailor Moon, although its lesser known in America.
Ranma Saotome the main character has the exact same rare personality of Rainbow Dash, and on top of that, gender eventually becomes unimportant to him/her. Easygoing prankster, master at speed, strength and awesomeness, but if you hurt the one he/she loves, or if you try to steal her away even with the gender advantage...
