Description First animation for Kismet and it has tons of mistakes... but considering I haven't tried animating anything since I was 5, drawing bouncing balls in the corner of book pages, I guess it turned out pretty good.

The line art was done in vector so it was relatively easy to change and keep consistent, but I still had to sketch out each frame by hand before "inking" them in, then I painted them individually in Painter... which is why it looks like her spots are swirling around...

Things to fix next time: Make the colors less jittery if possible, pay more attention to how actual muscles move, and the shoulders need to shift up and down depending on which foot is bearing weight. If I wasn't concerned about making the gif huge I could also add in blinks and ear turns.

She doesn't have her hair in this one because I started it before she was a week old... that's how long it took.

12 frames, +14 love!

yeah animation looks good c: though I think animation counts as one art, no matter how many frames you use ^^"

Not according to Griffsnuff's comments under the Upgrades image. She said that since each frame is a seperate picture with a different pose, each counts as an art. Took me a week to draw all the frames and paint them so I sure hope that'd be the case, heh...

No problem! Now she did say that if in a frame all you did was move a leg one pixel that wouldn't count, the frames have to be noticably different.

this is so fluid and i love the gentle bobbing of the head and the way the back paw flicks up slightly!!

Thanks! It didn't turn out as fluid as I'd like but it's decent for my first in a long while, that's to be sure. It was hard work but I learned quite a lot doing it. I referenced how a lion walks for it... she does flip the back paws up more than a lion does I think, but it's because her hind legs are longer than the front.
