A happy ending isn't something you believe in, it's a wish. A wish that someone gets what they want, that for once the universe is just and kind, that the future will be bright and amazing.

I guess I didn't need my heart today. Out of curiosity, is the panel where we see a rough drawing of the comic based on an actual page or was it just a sketch of nothing specific? On closer inspection it almost looks like the official first page of the comic.

He seems more like despair than story - which makes some sense on a transitory level; manipulate the emotions and you manipulate the story. But again the ultimate power comes from the writers - and the reader so...though to be perfectly honest, Dream is the biggest manipulator of all. Like hope...

It looks like "once" at the beginning, but I'm not sure I'm reading that right.
