Description
After reuniting with long lost relatives , having a rough run in with a grouchy surfer and a clingy octo-pony , getting introduced to a fiery c̶h̶i̶h̶u̶a̶h̶u̶a̶ dragon-pony , and not handling it as smoothly as they could have .... Mako and Bubble decided to put that chaotic week behind them and move on with their daily lives as best they can. Not long after, Bubble expressed interest in seeing what Mako did for his work. Mako reassured her that it would be rather boring for her, but he agreed to have her come on his boat during on of his daily deep sea treasure hunting trip. Once they reached the designated area, they dropped anchor and Mako dived off the ship, deep into the water.

As exciting as some moments were, there were certainly a fair share of dull moments. What seemed like hours passed by where Mako wasn't able to find anything, only coming up briefly for air. Bubble would keep herself occupied as best she can. Eventually her curiosity got the best of her and she went snooping around the ship, finding an old fishing pole and bait box. Having gone fishing plenty of times with her father, Bubble thought it would be at least a productive way to spend her time while waiting. She'd cast off the side of the boat and waited. Every now and again it would feel like she got a bite but nothing hooked. The mare was about to doze off from sheer boredom when suddenly she felt a hard tug on the line. She caught something! Putting everything she had into it, she'd struggled and tugged and pulled before reeling in her catch. With how much it dragged, it must be huge!

.... only to pull up a pair of blue swimming trunks.... Oops. Not too long after, a rather grumpy looking orca pony surfaced the water, only his eyes and muzzle visible as he glared at the flustered mare.

Mako: ..... You have something of mine...

Bubble: .... Heheh... heh...

Mako: I know you want to get in my pants, but really...?

Bubble: *squeaks* S-sorry!

Mako: *swims up to the boat and puts a hand on either side of Bubble before hoisting himself up, leaning and resting in between her legs* There's an easier way to do that, you know~?

Bubble: I.. you... well.... ummmmmm..... !!! *face turns bright red, stuttering and blushing, their noses almost touching. She feels Mako's hand sneak around behind her, touching her back*

Mako: *chuckles and grins* Heheh, don't sweat it.. *before swiftly undoing the back of Bubble's bikini top and takes it under the water*

Bubble: MAKOOOOO!!! *crosses her arms over her chest and blushes* Y-you ass!

Mako: *pokes his head out of the water* You took a piece of my swimwear, I take one of yours. *toothy grin before coming up more to show his chest, wearing Bubble's top* Besides, I think it looks better on me~

Bubble: *giggle snorts* Hehe, dork~ *before taking her hoof and shoving him back into the water* It's not really your color.

Mako: *fake yells as he falls back into the water with a splash* Aaaw, so mean. Black goes with anything!

Bubble: Even Pink? *smirks as she references her matching bottoms*

Mako: *gay accent* You think I can't look good in pink? Ugh!

Bubble: *giggles before standing up and slipping off her bottoms and tossing them at Mako* Maybe it will look better if you had the matching set~

Mako: *blinks a few times, blushing a little* ... I wore a speedo once already, I'm not putting these on.

Bubble: *shrugs as she unhooks Mako's trunks from the fishing line and puts them on* Well, you aren't getting these back~ *as she tightened the draw string, tail swishing back and forth*

Mako: *twitchy ear* Wanna bet? *before going under, then breaching the surface to get high enough to grab Bubble and pull her into the water, laughing*

Bubble let out a little shriek before hitting the water. Not long after Mako would pop his head back up and start laughing... until he realized that Bubble hasn't come back up. Mako dove under water again, quickly grabbing Bubble and bringing her back up to the surface. Once Mako pulled her back on the boat, Bubble would rest on her hands and knees, coughing up water and trembling, her fur standing on end like a startled cat. Mako would quickly to got he bridge of the boat and grab a towel, covering her by putting it over her shoulders.

Mako: Are you okay?! I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to... I mean, I didn't know you couldn't... Fuck...!

Bubble: *flinches before coughing a few more times* ... I-I.. want to go home... *her shoulders would start to shake, hair covering her face*

Mako: *stays quiet for a bit, taking his hands off her shoulders* .... O-okay.. I'll... turn the boat around...

By the time they made it back to the docks, Bubble had calmed down enough and they changed back to their appropriate swimwear. Curled up in the towel, she'd stare blankly at the floor, only looking up when Mako walked past her to tie the boat up to the docks.

Bubble: .... I'm sorry.. I-I...

Mako: No, its alright.. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pulled you in assuming... *ears folding back as he looked back at her* ..... I'm such an ass... *before continuing to tie the boat off*

Bubble: *shakes her head* ... I can swim.. or.. at least I use to be able too.. b-before..

Mako: *turned to look at her* ... Before what..?

Bubble: *rubs her face with the towel* ... When I was 8 I... fell off those sea cliffs on the west side of the island. *pointing in that direction* I don't really remember how I fell.. but there was an underwater current that d-dragged me under.... I thought I was over it by now...

Mako: *wide eyes, thinking his joke must've triggered the fear from her accident as a kid. He'd look back to the rope, finishing tying the knot* ... I'm so sorry, Bubble... I.. I guess my joke was....

Bubble ... it's fine. You couldn't have known... It was my fault for not telling you before we left. *stands up, putting on a smile* I'm normally fine being in the water.. just deeper water freaks me out still. Not being able to touch and all... *rubs the back of her head, trying to push it off as nothing*

Mako: *keeps his back turned, starting to question why she's with someone like him if that was the case. He'd push the thoughts, turning to Bubble* Still though.. Kind of crappy of me to pull you in..

Bubble: *wave her hand* It's fine. It's not like you were doing it with malicious intents. *pauses* How's your muzzle? I'm pretty sure I elbowed you by accident in all that confusion.

Mako: *rubs his snout* It's fine. I've been hit by worse, heheh

Bubble: That's good. Sorry.. for cutting your day short. I still had fun, despite what happened. *rubbed the back of her head awkwardly* I guess I'll.. see you tomorrow?

Mako: *smiles a bit* Yeah.. sure.

Bubble would give a little wave and head off, heading back in the direction of her house. Mako would watch Bubble walk away, his ears folding back as he started walking for Margarite's bar... He really needed a drink.
