Might not have had an episode this Saturday, but that doesn't mean I can't do episode art right?!Since I'm planning on covering a bunch of the finale (during the Saturday Livestreams), I thought it would be nice to make that what I see a lot and I didn't do last week myself.
I've also seen several folks already expecting a battle scene from me eventually and I guess here it is! Hope I didn't disappoint.
This one was fun to do as always, creating a low camera large scale character. Brings me back to the Timberwolf Emperor I made almost a year ago already. Done plenty other large beasts as well though.
Anyhow, hope y'all enjoy and bathe in the season 4 aftermath. We can fill up this empty time!
PS: I'll put together the time lapse video for this tomorrow or something, need to get those going again.

Edit: Added a 1440p version. I don't know how common it's yet, but if there's enough interest I'll see to saving that size a bit more over time perhaps.

I can already imagine the amount of destruction and emotion there is. I can see that twilight is fighting for the revenge of her fallen world, thinking about the things that this creature has done to her home. I can see she has been fighting for a long time, and that she isΒ broken to the bone, but wont stop until she gets revenge. I canΒ see the anger, sadness andΒ vengeance in her eyes.Β
over all,Β one of the best pictures ive seen, I personallyΒ see greatness from this person. keep up the awesome work!Β Β Β

Hey,Β I really need to ask you a question, how do you keep all the color inside your subject matters eg Twi when you start using overlay layers?Β Because in mine there's color leak a lot, any suggestions?

I usually have a lot of colours leaking as well. In this one I ended up doing a lot of brushwork after I added the initial colour. So I basically went over the entire painting after I was done with overlay, which took care of any possible bleeds.
Still, with others pieces I do sometimes leave a lot of the bleeds/leaks in. Depending on what brightness, colour, etc. it can be less or more noticeable.Β I do regularly still paint over it after colouring, to add in details but also clean up a bit in the focus area, and my post-process work and adjustments sometimes obscure it a bit more as well.
In the end it's of course still better to try and keep it relatively clean in the first place, which can be a bit tricky at first.
A little trick I sometimes use is to have a 50% grey on the secondary colour to which I switch with X quickly. On Overlay layers a 50% gray does nothing, so basically an Eraser. (while keeping all the settings from the brush in place)

Okay that's cool.Β And I think I'm beginning to understand how you really color your pieces, you add the color initially and then you take care of any bleeding by either painting over it on a normal layer or using the 'overlay eraser' technique.Β Way cool.Β As one of my teachers once said, "try to imitate the best and put your own spin on it."Β Though the gray to color technique isn't just yours alone, lots of other artists do it but you get the idea.
