He went on to "act" in many gay porn movies! Here is a link to his IMDb: www.imdb.com/name/nm0313267/?r…

Man... This scene terrified me a lot when I was a kid. Super tribute!

I saw it as a kid, too. An excellent film. I've not seen (nor want to) the remake.

Indeed. And I watched the remake and found that it complied with the rule "no remake better than the original".

That's too true. I recently saw the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street. Why? Why remake such a classic? It was terrible. Shhh....I saw the Evil Dead remake and I quite enjoyed it....! Though nowhere near as good as the original (one of my favourite films of all time). 1982's The Thing was definitely a lot better than the 50's version, The Thing From Another World. Is that the only remake that your rule does not apply to?

I agree. Every rule has an exception. WOw! Yes! The Thing is totally awesome. So far, better than the original. I think The Fly (80's) is better than the original version (50's) too, and considering that Bram Stoker's Dracula Coppola is a remake of dozens of adaptations that were made, it can also be an exception. Well, now I dont remember any other remake that was better than the original. Maybe Conan the Barbarian? joke
