A Moment in Valhalla by Thyrfing: [link]Some excellent individual (aka
) chose the kickass band Thyrfing to be the band of the month over at , so I just had to do an entry. It's also a theme that I've been wanting to illustrate for a long time: one of the Einherjar trying to woo a Valkyrie!It started out as a rather tame image of a realistically-garbed Viking guy and Valkyrie, and got progressively more fantastic (and sexy) as it progressed. At one point my friend looked at her breasts and said "Make 'em bigger." So, bigger they became. I think they're the biggest boobies I've ever had the honor of drawing, actually.
I have a pretty good series of WIPs so I might upload them at some point so you can see the progress.As for the Einherjar... does he get his lovely Valkyrie to come to bed with him? Well, just listen to the song.

I'm so happy that I wandered back to devart and saw this. Holy crap, mri'fao. This is amazing. Also incredibly hot. Viking dude is one damn lucky fellow if he won her over. (Finally, loving the details -- the braids, the scars, damn. Damn damn damn.) You are so ridiculously talented.

This has got to be one of my favorites out of all of your pieces, Heimdall! Your attention to detail is, as usual, fantastic; the warrior's scars, the stains and decoration on the table, the ornamentation on the Valkyrie's belt and circlet, the way her teeth show just a little, the small braid in her hair, the nature of the warrior's goofily content expression and the way her armor gleams on his face--it gives the scene and the place so much life, and that's enhanced and enunciated by the warm feeling of the colors. Looking at his piece, I feel like I am indeed an outsider gazing into Valhalla, privately (or maybe not so much anymore, haha) wishing I had the fortune to be there, myself.
Also, it goes without saying that your representation of the Valkyrie is one of the best ever. There's something endearing about her squishy midriff, and I love how she's not only enticing, she's also muscular and actually not all that different from her companion in terms of physical construction! I think that's how Valkyrie are supposed to look: very much beautiful, but not weak or delicate (or logic-breaking) in any way. You did an excellent job conveying that exactly.

I applaud your success at keeping the body proportions of the Valkyrie in tune. Too many people have a tendency to create women with waists too thin to support their voluptuous bosom, resulting in something less than human.
