Description
The super duper long guide to cleaning up lineart and separating it from the background tutorial. It took me a long time to figure out how to do this. My lineart is so messy that I had to tweak and change eight other tutorials on this topic. It might not be the fastest or best way but it sure worked for me!
This is for PHOTOSHOP CS5
This is the piece that was worked on:
Enjoy!

I do normally, but I sometimes just like the pencil line look, or, I like drawing traditionally. It's an artistic choice.

I use the Select-inverse tool, as well!
I don't do all the crazy stuff before hand though... too lazy XD
Plus I tend to jack the contrast up high enough that the grain of hte paper vanishes anyways when I scan

That and I've taken to drawing on my tablet these days... saves paper, which saves both trees AND money. Everyone wins. Except the company who MAKES the sketchbooks but... well. C'est la vie.

not really. the trees are going to be made into something regardless of supply and demand. We're taught that its a perfect system when its not really

ahaha, yeah. that and recycling does more damage to the environment via the chemicals that are used to purify the materials. I am very aware XD
(it's a sentimental thing D
That and sketchbooks are heavy! I carry a nice moleskine for sketching, but as far as finished pieces its just easier for me to have my laptop and tablet than the chunky things I prefer for the paper quality
