Today is it’s time to got to the school, so before to go I want to post this little pic of Rayman I made from one of my sketches.
The sketch was made on December 11 2009 because at that day I was remembering the game with my younger bro I’m having a kinda an “artistic blocking”…a blocking of ideas or something since some months ago… a blocking to draw, I mean, I want to draw something new, and my ideas are there!! but when I have the chance I just can’t! and also I couldn’t reply my messages …At first I thought it was due the fact school and work don’t give me the time to sit down and do it, but I’m not quite sure cos when I finally have some time to draw…I just can’t draw anything! :icongawhplz:…It’s like my subconscious didn’t wanted me to make another drawing and it’s something really weird, that never happened to me before…maybe is because I joined to a club and I noticed, it’s not just with their members…or maybe is just lack of inspiration…Well anyway, yesterday I was making a homework about commercial business types. The teacher wanted us to give our opinion about which of them were better and why, but I got stuck in the middle of my essay…So I thought to paint so I can focus again after that. You know, it may sound weird, but when I feel exasperated with something, to draw, or in this case to paint, It really helps me a lot! So I decided to add color to one of my sketches, because I was so amazed and excited to see the surprised great appreciation of my first Sketchdump!! So I painted Rayman!
You know what? that sketch of him was my first sketch ever (because although I played the game, I don’t know why but never drew him before, just liked the game ) and I think drew it just to remember my childhood times, and the funny thing is, the sketch was made without reference, and even so it came out very well! And with this pic I tried some of the brushes that my friend suggested me, and I loved a lot the outcome!! I decided to ad a simple background because there is nothing green in Rayman’s body, and when it comes to make backgrounds, it’s better to make them of a color that subject of the drawing don’t have, and I think this green fits very well!
I used to play that game when we were kids (my brothers and me) and we liked very much that game for a pretty good time! And when I used to play I thought Rayman was very cool, and what I really liked about him was the fact his body wasn’t attached, and that made him look peculiar and fun and that’s why it was amused to see him in action! His desing was very original.I used to play and see him jumping and running and stuff like that, because it seemed like his body was actually attacked for some invisible energy! his limbs were never far away ..…And that was very logic since in the game story he’s made of pure energy! (I think it was, I can’t remember it now very well ) that’s why he’s named Rayman, I loved the logic of that fact! Other thing I liked very much about this guy was his attack with his fists. Sure you remember it! those fist flying like guided missiles to attack the enemy! …OH MAN!! I think I’m remembering my good old times with videogames right now! …Old good times ….when my brothers were friendly with each other *sigh*…and we used to talk for hours and play every game together, even those who were just “one player” ones, cos while one of us was playing, the other "Get out there" "kick it hard" "beware of that monster"…Oh… I really miss those times….I liked the sceneries and structures of the game too, but I always had to deal with the platforms!! sometimes I took hours to complete the levels cos I couldn’t cross the plathforms!
I want to dedicate this to for her support to my work, and to and cos they liked my rayman sketch.
