Description This is a close-up photograph of the beautiful tribute to Napolean, painted by Louis David. It is originally known as 'Napolean Bonaparte Crossing the Great Saint Bernard', and can be found today in the Cabildo museum of New Orleans, a former center for Spanish government and state affairs.

While the entire painting itself was a thing of imaculate beauty, I couldn't help but be struck most by Napolean's face. The aquiline nose...the penetrating and aloof gaze...even the firm line of the mouth is most captivating. I hope you enjoy as much as I do, as I can't help but fall in love with it more every time I view it.

Intense accuracy. I've never seen Napolean in such a extravagant light. Something tells me: This is the real Napolean Bonaparte. Great job!

By which I mean simply looking into his face is intimidating. Such Initiative, such utter power, in the expression of such a young man's face.

I wish I had a sophisticated way of descibing this like you did...
But it's the best painting of him I've ever seen. I saw it while I was watching the history channel this morning, then looked him up on DA to see if I could find it again.
