Description

Under the water you scream so loud but the silence surrounds you
But I hear it loud and you fall in the deep and I'll always find you

Cause its dark as hell down there and someone needs to light up that pretty pretty lady...

This painting was so much fun to do! Its hard to tell, but I love marine biology and I do hope to become a marine biologist one day. I've lived my entire life on the water so its a part of me. My favorite part of the ocean is the abysspelagic/hadopelagic because of all the bioluminescent life that seems to light up a part of the sea once thought to be void of life. Taking my first marine biology class in my undergraduate studies has been a blast and I get to openly share my experiences on the sea (i'm a fisherman) and my love for it.

Needless to say, this painting was incredibly interesting since it has all of my favorite fish in the whole wide world: firefly squids, an giant oarfish, a dragonfish, and ribbon jellyfish. I don't think that ribbon jellies went that far down, but if they were bioluminescent they would be so pretty

im in tears right now
im at work as i type this and im a huge mess
this piece
its a dagger to my heart
never have i ever seen a piece so beautiful and with so much feeling
im going to college this summer to work my way to be a deep sea marine biologist/zoologist
every day since i was 6 years old, i have dreamed day and night to one day see the beautiful bioluminescence that lays just below the suns reach in the vast oceans here on this earth
never have i EVER seen anyone else that was so passionate about this as i am
never have i ever fallen so deeply in love with a piece
and never have i ever cried to art pieces in my life...hell i dont even cry to movies that are supposed to tug at your heart strings
this, however
this piece goes beyond my imagination and has touched me

lately, i haven't been doing well
my mental health is deteriorating
my will to go to college is weighing on me because i feel as if i just wont make it to the field that i want to be in
but this piece
its given me hope
this job isnt dying
there ARE people out there who care and understand the grandness and beauty of the sea
people DO see eye to eye with me on this..im not alone like i once thought
ive meet people in my life who brought me down to tell me that going for this is a waste of time
that this idea i have isnt what i want

but look at this artwork...
its literally my dream come to life
this image is powerful

ive only just now seen this piece...
and id like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this
for the past few months ive been trying to hype myself back up for this dream
hell, my youtube history hasnt seen the light since ive been constantly watching streams of deep sea dives again prntscr.com/e9lj0k (it goes on and on, believe me)
thank you so much for drawing this piece
i can feel the raw passion and love you have for this area of the sea...
and it makes me feel whole knowing that im not alone...

it makes me so happy that I can inspire you like
As of right now I am basically on my way of becoming a full-fledged marine biologist, even deep sea. I'm trying to specialize in oarfish
since they are my favorite damn creature on this planet
and I moved all the way to florida for graduate school and my school actually has a deep sea program and they said that oarfish research is super possible for me

Don't let your health stop you
It didn't let it stop for me. If you watched me a year ago, i was giving progresses of this disease I had that was slowly killing me and I had to get surgery for it. Its been 6 months since I had the surgery and it changed my life and ofc it didn't stop me from chasing my dream to become a deep sea marine biologist

So don't let it stop you.

I'm really happy I am able to inspire you. I really try to inspire other and I'm sure my recovery story and my life thus far could been seen as inspiration. If you ever want to talk to me about my work, past research, or even about schools that I recommend for marine biologist feel free to watch me and ask

I'm super approachable and we can talk, from one scientist, artist, and friend to another. Thank you so much again and it really warms my heart to see you really feel this way. It makes me so happy that I can inspire others

Prayas are so cool!! If you become a biologist you should specialize with them since I'm doing oarfish
there isn't much research done in them and you can really stick your foot in the door with Dubia
i recommend reading whatever scientific articles on them before I speak with a mentor
it would really impress them <3

ongosh you are so welcome and don't worry
its alive and living <33

oh hella<3 im stuck between siphonophores and deep sea jellies tbh
so maybe ill try both<33

i actually impressed my high school teacher with dubias and was able to teach my marine biology class for a week because i knew about some deep sea fish that even he didn't know about<333

why not???? You can def do both, especially if you have time for it! Like I said, I recommend that if you go to college

When you get accepted, you automatically have access to their databases and other databases of other large scientific journals. I recommend you use that and look for anything about your species of choice. Or if you want, use PlosOne

Thats a free to use scientific journal article site that is super easy to navigate and their stuff is pretty legit. I used some articles to cite some stuff for my undergraduate thesis

That's good to hear 😄 I love all animals but I think my fav sea animal would be the jellyfish and not a specific type I think all jellyfish are beautiful 😊 also good luck becoming a meriene biologist because you love them so much I am sure you will make a good one 👍

Nice! My favorite marine organism is the giant oarfish. They are so beautiful and the fact that they are mysterious/rare makes them all the more appealing to me

D'awwwwwwww thank you so much! That really means so much to me~ <3

😱 .... Such a big fish 😵 it such a big and beautiful fish, I had heard the name before but I didn't really know what it was so I looked up a picture of it 😄 it is a very pretty fish when it is in the water it looks a bit pink or rainbow , also I have thought of a picture I want to draw based on that fish . It might be more cartoon because I draw anime/manga style mostly but i hope it turns out well so thank you too 😊 -> 🐟🐋🐡

There's just something about this that makes it so riveting...perhaps her expression or perhaps the overall use of lighting. Either way I love this piece and the colors you used. c;
