Description
Still desperately trying to claw my way down my request list XD This one is for my friend Anne over on the AC Amino. It's her main OC.
------------
Name: Captain Anne Briggs
Born: 1690; British West Indies
Died: 1750; British West Indies (age 60)
Allegiance: None
Bio: Anne was the daughter of a wealthy English politician in the Caribbean. She was arranged to be married to a wealthy bureaucrat when she was a teenager, but her free spirit drove her to run away in an attempt to find her own path. She ended up in a tavern full of pirates and outlaws, and her rough and tough attitude made her immediately popular amongst the scallywags. Unfortunately, the fun night of drinking didn't last. Her father and fiance discovered her at the tavern and dragged her back home in a fury. Embarrassed by what they saw as a sad excuse of a woman, they arranged for the wedding to be sabotaged. The ceremony was held in private on board a ship bound for some of the outer islands of the Caribbean, but instead of getting married, Anne was thrown off the ship onto a deserted island. She was left there to rot, despite her cries for forgiveness.
Anne's rescue came in the form of a rum runner ship that had stopped on the island for repairs. Anne snuck aboard and grabbed some crew men's clothes to disguise herself as a man and blend in. The ship ended up getting attacked by pirates along its route, though, and Anne ended up joining the victorious pirate crew in order to stay alive. She ended up making several friends on board the ship, especially the captain, who favored her work ethic greatly. The first mate quickly grew jealous of her, and when a Spanish ship attempted to attack the pirates, the first mate took it as a chance to kill the captain. Anne didn't allow this to happen, however. She saved the captain, fought off the Spanish, and killed the traitor. Though the pirates celebrated their victory, the captain ultimately did not survive the wounds he gained in the attack. He passed the mantle of captain onto Anne with his dying words, and she became the leader of her loyal crew.
She ravaged the high seas for the rest of her career. She ran into several colorful characters on her travels, including Edward ‘Blackbeard’ Thatch, Charles Vane, Mary Read, and Edward Kenway. Her career began to slow in the 1720s however, as piracy in the Caribbean began to become a dying business. Literally. The colonial governments brought the hammer down on many of the most fearsome pirates under the leadership of ex-Templar, Woodes Rogers. Still, she did what she could to keep up her streak and feed her crew, until her career hit it's tragic end in 1750, when she was impaled by an attacking foe and drowned in the Caribbean sea.

I do have a Viking OC named Arnbjörg Ørn in the works though I'm waiting for the next AC: Last Descendants novel to come out before I write her bio since that book is gonna have a lot of Viking lore. I also have a pirate OC named Lark Peregrine from around the Captain Kidd and Henry Morgan era though I have to do more research on that. And I've already uploaded my Roaring 20s OC's ref sheet a while ago. I'm still really proud of her pretty outfit XD
