Description
I bought myself a copy of Assassin's Creed Origins: Desert Oath not long ago (though I haven't gotten around to reading it yet lol) and I made this bookmark for when I do finally read it :VRelated content

Quite hard to see a lot of your picture, when a cat sits in front of the screen and wants attention -_-
But I try to comment though XD
You have done a great job with the both assassins and the details in the Romans and pharaos are great aswell! I can definitely recognize Cleopatra and Caesar...those two had a relationship for some time, if I remember right... Sadly I can not say, who is the other pharao and the other Roman...
The details you have put into the ancient Egyptian letters are really nice aswell, did you use references for them?

Oh noo XD Dang it kitty
And thanks a bunch ^^ The other pharoah is Ptolemy XIII Theos Philopater, Cleopatra's brother that she went to war with in order to take the throne. And the other Roman is Flavius Metellus, who was the Templar Grand Master and main villain in the game.
And I did use references On some of the Origins promotional art, they show a bunch of hieroglyphics with their translations, so that's what I used: ubistatic-a.akamaihd.net/0053/…

Cats just love it to jump on keyboards XD
No problem and thank you very much for the information...I always wonder how long you need to get all those infos
XD
Nice! Definitely useful, when you create Assassin's Creed art....and there are even hieropglyphics for "Nothing is true, everything is permitted. We work in the dark to serve the light." XD

To make a two-sided bookmark. When I got it laminated I had it folded in half like that so that one side would be Bayek and the other Amunet.

I really enjoy it, at least story wise. I really enjoyed Bayek and Aya and the journey they go on, although the villains were a little rushed. Like Flavour literally comes in at the last minute and they act like it's a big shock when it's revealed he's evil XD Like "My god! This character I only just met or even heard of was behind this all along! How could I have been so blind?" Idk I felt like they should've drawn that out better lol.
The biggest problem I have is the progression system :V Like oh my god I hate how it forces you to level up to continue the story. Like there were times I spent entire days on levelling up with finding materials and playing boring repetitive side quests just to get to the next cutscene or be able to do a simple air assassination. There are times I forgot entirely why I'm killing some of the Templars because the game forcibly dragged me away from the main story for so long. And there's no memory replay so I can't exactly go back and look. It was pretty annoying for me especially because I don't like gameplay-centered games. I don't have the attention span for it. Almost all my games are heavily story and character driven.
But other than that, it is a lot of fun and there's way more to like about it than dislike in my opinion. It's a welcome addition to the series in my opinion, despite the way it kinda scrambles the lore a bit XD

Pretty much. And I said this before, he was just some guy that came out of nowhere. No build up. No surprise that truly was a shocker. And being Roman really sort of ruins the Order of the Ancients image of trying to save Egypt from being conquer again.
The Ptolemy-Cleopatra Civil War is largely brushed to the side at the same time does not help matters.
To be fair AC has always had a hard time portraying villains, at least since Brotherhood. Haytham was a protagonist in himself, while Governor Torres, Crawford Starrick and Germain were completely forgettable. Origins is really lacking in the villain department.
The progression system is always a issue. (I HATE crocodiles. Hippos I can deal with if I have a good bow.)
But I love the setting, and everything about it. And hype for Curse of the Pharaohs.

True, though at least in the other games they still established their main villains relatively well. Even the first game which only had Robert de Sable for like 3 scenes at least knew to show him off at the beginning and establish him as the big bad guy so that when you fight him at the end you're not just going "oh I guess this is the boss now" like with Flavius XD
I enjoy the setting too. Admittedly I personally would've preferred a more purely Egyptian setting instead of mixing in all this Greek and Roman stuff but it's still a fun world. I took two years of Latin so it's fun actually understanding a bit of the random gibberish you hear the guards shouting XD I guess I was just really hoping for that Akhenaten/Tutenkhamun setting. It would've kept the lore much more smooth but oh well. That's what OCs are for I guess lol

Pretty much. Robert de Sable is a better bad guy then Flavius since at least he was well established as one of the big bad from the start at the temple.
Oh that is cool. From what I read they pick the Ptolemaic Era and the Roman Republic/Roman Empire time as truly ancient era would not quite provide them cities like Alexandria and this era allowed them a huge swathe of architecture from multiple eras as well as monuments that no longer exist (such as the Pharos of Alexandria, Cleopatra's Palace, and the Library of Alexandria.)
This talks about how all the other games get Ancient Egypt wrong while AC get it right.

I suppose that's a fair reason. Though I think they could still manage to pull off a more ancient aesthetic if they tried. I mean the Caribbean back then was almost nothing but shacks and jungles but they still managed to sculpt it into a fun and deplorable world without massive cities like Florence or Paris. Setting it earlier in history would've cleaned the lore up a bit too because then we wouldn't have all these weird questions about Darius and Iltani and Wei Yu floating around that no one seems to have clear answers to XD It's like a collective community shrug where everyone's just like "eh don't think about it too hard and it'll be fine."
Oh well. I'm just picky I guess XD It was still an awesome game and I'm glad I bought it. I'm hoping the Valley of the Kings will give us some of that ancient stuff I was really hoping for.

Another idea I found was to set Origins at the start of Alexander's Conquests or just after his death, with Ptolemy positioning himself to claim Egypt and start his Dynasty. And have the divide between the Assassins and Templars to be smaller and the differences between them to be less clear, with both groups seeking to gain positions of power and influence over Ptolemy and his descendants.
And I do too.

Honestly the biggest surprise for me is that they didn't expand on the isu stuff like at all. You would think they'd take advantage of the Egyptian mythology and whatnot and really build up some of the deep deep origins of the Assassins that Eve led. Instead all we get is some Animus glitch bosses and some temples that kinda just spout random philosophy about space time that I guess is supposed to establish some stuff for Layla? Idk I was kinda hoping we'd get some missions set in isu Egypt like was hinted at in Unity XD

Pretty much. For all the amazing ruins and tombs I find, I feel let down we don't learn more about the Isu. I mean, the Osiris Myth is more, or less true with Isis using a Ankh to bring him back for a night to give way to Horus.
There is even some concept art of Isis.
I would have love to play as a Egyptian Isu!

Maybe we'll get some more isu stuff in the Valley of the Kings. I mean they gotta be able to explain the zombies somehow XD
